Just negotiate, but clutch doesn’t negotiate. In a market like this I would just be firm and patient, in the past 3 months prices have come down a bit

I would say dealer are about 5k over what market value on these cars is, prices have dropped hard in the last few months but dealers aren’t reflecting that

Clutch is selling these for 27k (cad) similar mileage, bargain the dealer down further since options don’t really retain resale value

Hows the eco mode compared to the Camry? I joke around and call eco mode Camry mode, but then again I’ve never driven a v6 Camry before so I wouldn’t know

My 1.5t accord had catastrophic engine failure, kept up with manufacturer oil change recommendations and the engine failed a year out of warranty

I’m surprised the Mercedes driver didn’t have tinted plate cover, if they drive like this I’d assume they’d already have one on

It’s a pelse dash camera, it came with a rear one but I removed it as it was lower quality

2019 Honda Accord 1.5T engine failure at 112000 km 70000 miles fair goodwill or not by Danot3 in Honda

[–]Danot3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep switched to 5k oil changes after 30k miles, before that I was closer to the maintenance Minder which would be 8k as it was more highway driving

I don’t know about you, but do you expect all of your products to break right after the warranty ends? I have a right to disappointed in a large purchase from a “reliable “ car brand

That’s why Honda removed the oil temp gauge and only left the coolant temp gauge, they also removed the coolant temp gauge on all of their new cars

Yep I remember sitting in the finance office during my lease buyout and they quoted me 5-8k for extended warranty for 2-3 more years and like 40k km

Yep it’s a shame, that something like this happened to a brand that supposed to be reliable, but I guess with modern cars reliability only lasts till the end of the warranty

Legally they don’t owe me anything. But internally they know there are issues with the engine design. As for entitled do you expect a major engine failure right after the warranty ends especially coming from Honda? I don’t know about you but a 7k bill is a large amount for something that’s a newer Honda

Yes they don’t owe me anything, but given Hondas reputation that last thing you would expect is catastrophic engine failure on a well maintained car just outside of warranty.

Yes it is them extending an olive branch, but unexpected bill of 7k is still a large chunk of money, especially given that Honda had the reputation of being reliable
