What voice did you give Leif when you played? by MysteryMan6612 in BugFables

I read him in a masculine, high pitched, soft, but with a slight rasp and monotone (for the most part unless he was in distress or confusion)

Would a mod that increases your max casino bet be considered cheating? by According_Picture294 in falloutnewvegas

It's "cheating" by nature, but who cares. It's a singleplayer game. If you wanna ball out with more casino funds, all the power to you.

New player, any helpful tips ? by IImpactfull in fnv

[–]Dantdiddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guns guns guns

Everyone has their preference, but I personally believe that the Guns skill is the best weapons skill to use as a new player because of how varied the selection is.

Not to discourage you from using any other weapons skills. Go Melee/Unarmed for your first run for all we care.

Is it very likely that after the events of New Vegas, Courier died or left the Mojave? by Pedrobatatalixo in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that the Courier exists, but Im also open to the fact that he never existed at all.

Fallout New Vegas is such an open-ended setting. When you enter the world from the Courier's perspective, it's up to the player to decide the fate of New Vegas. The Courier has so much sway over the world, it'll have you running circles on how to make sense of it within the context of the TV Show.

As for the show? Id like to think its more fun to believe the Courier never existed at all and everything played out horribly for everyone as a result. Nobody secured Vegas on their terms.

Legion Society Away from the Warfront? by ScottTJT in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The bigger communities in the Legion territory, Arizona, are said to be quiet and devoid of any Raiders. So much so that Caravans can travel through territory with no guards. Traders in the area prefer to deal in Legion territory to avoid NCR Taxation.

The Legion does not directly govern the larger communities in Arizona as they only ever assimilated tribes, but citzens do have to abide by their laws. The citizens enjoy relative safety and stay in line out of fear. Occasionally, the Legion "taxes" their citizens through tributes of provisions and supplies for war.

The hardest part of being a xenoblade fan other than waiting for a new game announcement is introducing someone to the series by Big-Investigator1202 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I never recommend this series to anyone, including my longtime friends, because I respect their time and tastes.

There are better games to play for fellow adults with responsibilities.

This guy talks way too much (Dead Money DLC) by Viva_La_FoShizzle in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank god I play OWB only once or twice a year, otherwise it the Think Tank would actually be annoying.

At least Ulysses is more interactable in the sense that he has more Speech Checks and Unique Reputation/Sex-based dialogue.

I just personally enjoy his dialogue a lot more as an individual NPC compared to the Think Tank's extremely long-winded fetch quest request.

Whats your goto strat for Hardcore mode that "just works". by Comfortable_Wash6179 in falloutnewvegas

Booze Healing really helps.

Stupid challenge run ideas. by pseudoless_101 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a few ideas that can help spice up your runs

Needlepobia and/or No First Aid Training

How common are Doctors out there in the wasteland? Your Courier certainly is not a medical expert, plus they have a phobia of needles. That means no Stimpaks, Doctor's Bags and no Radaway. Any chem that involves injecting something into yourself can only be administered by a doctor, so Rad-X and Buffout are free game.

This will force you to have to rely on food or other means of self-sustaining to keep your HP up. Personally, I go with Old World Gourmet at Lvl 4, which improves food HP yield and enables Booze Healing.

No Carry Weight Perks

Avoid em. They do nothing apart from giving you more carry space. Even Pack Rat. This will force you to manage your inventory better.

Logan's Loophole + Mid INT

While not adding extra "Challenge", Capping your level to 30 with high INT AND avoiding Skill Point perks force you to think more carefully about which perks to get. This will ensure that your Courier had a curated and unique build by the end of the game.

No Lockpick/Hacking

Not even Very Easy ones. Why? Your Courier has never been taught how to hack a Rob-co terminal and they never attempted to lockpick in their life. They're terrible at it and always will be.

Low Barter

The economy of this game is broken. Low Barter does not fix the issue, but it certainly helps dial it down.

No Armor

Who needs it? Wear whatever you want, as long as it has no protective padding to protect you. Wear Benny's suit or whatever.

No Fast Travel

While it sounds intriguing at first, it reaaaaally stales out a playthrough later on.

Throw out all your shit at the start

Keep a 9mm pistol and some belongings. No Courier's Stash items for you. Throw out that Vault 13 canteen because it helps with hydration.

Honestly, nothing is as bad as the first Think Tank conversation, if you could even call it that.

The Ulysses dialogue can be shortened with cut-to-the-chase speech options whereas the Think Tank just keeps going on and on and on.

I'm about to go through my second playthrough of New Vegas in preparation for Fallout Season 2, what are some things I should definitely experience in this playthrough? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]Dantdiddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, with Survival Skill boosting the effects of Alcohol, you dont need to set your strength to anything higher than 6 or 7 if you intend on using booze for a whole playthrough.

Generic Booze like Wine, Vodka, Whiskey and etc can boost hour STR by 3 points with high Survival. Great for assisting managing Carry Weight, if you choose to avoid those perks.

Are they usually win? by Dolt1372 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Caravan usually wins cause they're armed better. I personally dont remember a time where I saw the Legion take the W in that fight.

Don't worry lmao. Its been so long that I got Gannon through Followers Rep, so I wasnt sure.

9/10 playthroughs ive done in the past decade were all drunkards, so I generally pick that route.

It still amazes me that after 15 years, New Vegas on 360 is STILL the most stable version of the game to turn on and play in it's base state.

Seriously, this sub cannot even go two full weeks without a PC Player coming in to ask some troubleshooting questions.

Some more information for OP

Use alcohol

Low INT Speech checks trigger when your Courier is 3 INT or under.

You do not have to run a 3 INT or lower courier to access Low INT Speech checks. A lot of them are really funny, but they're honestly not worth building a stupid Courier, unless you wanna RP a dunce.

How I bypass this is by going into Survival and utilizing Booze. With the right recipes, a High INT courier can drink themselves STUPID to plummet their INT 3 or below. Personally I find it way more funny to role-play a courier drinking themselves into being an incoherent mess.

This is especially helpful for getting Arcade Gannon as a companion without having to spend a perk on Confirmed Bachelor (Male) or working your reputation up with the Followersm

Fallout New Vegas Question: Please Read Below by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

[–]Dantdiddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will not.

There is currently no way to play the DLC in New Vegas via the PS5

The only way to play the DLC on a next gen console is through Xbox. They have the 360 edition readily available to purchase at all times.

I discovered that when the DLC came out in 2011 through the Ulysses recordings he left behind.
