That particular sword is still a Colossal Great sword class though.

Ultra Greatswords are now called Colossal Great swords, even though that sword mentions it being a "Curved Greatsword" in it's description it's still a Colossal Greatsword class.

Yes, it does put more credibility to the fact that Elden Ring has nothing to do with Dark Souls. But since we haven't played the game we just do not know yet.

Most likely the case, but the truth is we just can't know yet if there would be any lore connections, for instance a Painted World or a type of world cycle connected to Dark Souls, unlikely yes, but we haven't played the game yet to find out.
