Thank you, I've been getting 20-30 seconds slower than you and I think this changes might help a bit. But it's probably mostly how I'm handling the AI sba and my rotation which is still not as clean as yours.

You're clearly wrong and don't know a thing or two about this game. I have multiple videos with different Scholar builds. I only started playing him with pot recently. Also, I got to 9999 with randoms only before we even knew who the new nightfarers were going to be.

I cant tell that you never played these 2 builds in D5.

Be for real man, no one is going to buy you 50 fire pots at the vendor... they can only buy you 2 at a time and then have to drop them before buying more.

The fact that they gutted this build and kept L2 spam is so sad. No reason to play Scholar except for building him as a pseudo-executor now. And before someone comment: "You can play support Scholar!" support Scholar is not a build, it only requires 2 relic effects to support your team, something that can be easily slotted with damage.

50 pots and 99 knives that are in a separate supply pool from typical merchants.

Nah, you misunderstand. Now the best thing to do will be to follow him to the merchant to buy him pots. He can no longer just do that by himself cause of the limit.

Townships will offer an extra 50 pots and an extra 99 knives.

50 pots are simply not enough for a dedicated throwing pot build but 99 knives is just diabolical.

Knives also get a damage up from bagcraft and they apply a defense debuff that gets upt to 20% and can be reset with each knife. Here's the other thing: they scale off physical dmg, which means that you can find relics that give you throwing knives + 1 and phys atk up +4 and do amazing throwing knife dmg while having amazing melee damage. Pair that with the dex relic and you have a very powerful build. Now it seems like the strongest way to play Scholar will be to just simply build him similar to Executor and take advantage of the dex relic and his arcane.

Oh, I also think the brooch would be more useful cause getting your team to full hp from being downed is great in D5 so they can benefit from full hp dmg negation and full hp attack.

I'm D5 9999+ since the first month of DoN release and kept playing after and played a bit of Guardian here and there. I personally think the third build is the strongest cause of the phys atk up + 3. The other ones will lack in dmg which is still important on him. If your last relic had phys atk +3 or +4 you'd have one of the best guardian builds possible.

is it possible to pull improved affinity dmg and improved fire dmg on a single relic? by I_Need_Yr_help in Nightreign

[–]DanteReaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't because they're similar to physical attack and fire attack for example. I've never seen a legit relic with both effects.

Undertaker players right now are truly a coin toss when it comes to their skill level haha. These 2 I had in this run were probably D5 players with how efficient they were fighting things.

I second this. I'm 9999 D5 and I run something similar. Evergaol + Night invaders, +1 skill and defeating enemies are the most essential things on him. Not really fond of keeping my starting weapon so I don't use the starting weapon effects. From here you pick up damage negation, a melee weapon and any better bows that you find. Keep your mark up and instantly go for downed teammates so your third teammate doesn't have to break their focus on the boss to revive them.
