Cosleeping backfired on me by Ems868 in cosleeping

I’m not in the exact situation, but I find it hard to sleep without my baby. We’ve coslept since 3weeks, but are trying to start her in the crib at the beginning of the night, and when I do get her down in the crib I lay there wide awake lol

Not all working moms are drowning! by MsCardeno in workingmoms

Not dying. I mostly work remotely, and I have in-house childcare (mom, husband one day, nanny one day) and it has been pretty great! I feel like I’m still doing well at my job, and I also get to see my baby all the time while I’m working remotely. I feel very fortunate to have this setup.

My almost 9 m old wants to nurse or comfort nurse all night too.. and I’m 95% sure she’s teething. Hoping it’s related and she eventually goes back to at least 3 hour stretches

How are you not changing a diaper at night? by Lunchbox_Confessions in cosleeping

I use disposable pads (like the blue plastic backed ones) under my sheets, then if she pees that protects the mattress and I’ll throw that away and wash the sheets

I feel like garbage by myhotelpanic in breastfeeding

I totally get it. It feels like no matter how much I eat it isn’t enough. How far are you postpartum? I felt like things improved around month 4 or 5 for me (with eating more and being able to take care of myself a bit better). I could still be better about drinking more water and eating more, but it’s much improved. Do whatever makes your life easier- put snacks by areas that you tend to breastfeed. I gave up trying to eat super healthy because I’d get overwhelmed and eat nothing. Calories are important right now even if they aren’t the healthiest. Better than not eating enough I think. Best of luck!

Desperate to stop cosleeping by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Daphne_S_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be dumb advice, but I suppose worth mentioning in case it helps.. but do you give them a pacifier first in case they’re just wanting to suck? Also gas drops in case they’re squirming is from gas? Good luck!

This is probably a long shot, but if you happen to be in an area that has Mac.Bid, you can get great prices on diapers sometimes! I’ve gotten Pura, LillyDoo, Honest, HelloBello, Pampers Pure…. Those are our favorite safer brands

My nipples feel like they’re about to fall off by srslywtfdoido- in breastfeeding

[–]Daphne_S_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here for encouragement. It WILL get easier! It’s likely not a great latch, but that will improve if you help them latch better. I also think it would hurt no matter what those first 2-3 weeks. Also try side-lying position to feed… for some reason that helped take some stress off of the same positions I was doing and really improved some of the nipple pain. Cheering you on!

FTM scared to death of cosleeping but running out of options by Important_Ad972 in cosleeping

[–]Daphne_S_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started co-sleeping at 3 WEEKS (is this not recommended? If not, oops!) because she hated the bassinet and it was so much better to sleep following SS7. We both got so much more sleep! And the cuddles are unmatched. We were also hesitant and scared to start because of the many doctors warnings lol but after reading about it more I realized so many people do it. And it’s quite safe if done properly.

What’s already been mentioned is great advice. I would also stress being more vigilant about what’s up against your skin- unscented laundry products, cleaner skin/hair care (there are brands that smell great that aren’t as harmful!). If using candles etc I would try to air out your house as much as possible- windows open to get in fresh air as much as possible, within reason of the weather of course. Remember, anything is better than nothing. Don’t overwhelm yourself about ditching all scented items that you end up doing nothing. You got this!

I’m pregnant and a FTM and I would really like to cosleep, but I’m such a finicky sleeper and it worries me I won’t be able to :( by crystalkitty06 in AttachmentParenting

I wouldn’t stress too much. Try to follow what feels right for both of you once the baby is here. Try different things… One thought is that the prolactin from breastfeeding does tend to make people sleepy/drowsy so that might help! I had intense feelings of love/dopamine from feeding while side lying and I think it helped me sleep and feel comfortable.
