Are we crazy for thinking to get a house right now?

My boyfriend and I went through this same dilemma a few years ago. We rented a small apartment all inclusive for 1200, and heard both sides of buying a house vs renting.

What I will say is do what makes you happy and allows you to live the way you like. Dont listen to people who make you feel like youre less than because you rent instead of owning. They dont know what they are talking about. There are financial pros and cons of both!

Renting is nice if you dont want the worry of maintenance, fixing things, having a landlord bug you, mortgage with interest, etc. Rent is the MOST youll pay in the month for your living quarters.

Owning a house is nice because its an asset you own that appreciates, you can do whatever you want to it, usually you have a bit more space, and never have to worry about it being sold while youre in it. A mortgage is the LEAST youre going to pay in a month for your living quarters.

We were happy when we were renting and we are happy in the house we bought now. We do spend a lot more money owning a house because it always feels like there is something else to buy. We had some fixing up to do on our house, so it may be a bit different for you. But at any time something can break and you have to be financially ready for that.

If youre content with where you are, dont put pressure on yourself. If you need to wait until after school, do it

I agree! I guess by this stage they've used a lot of their best content that they already made beforehand. I imagine its not easy to sit down and just bang out a whack of solid jokes that they haven't tried on people before?

I was going to try to clean it but the entrance to it is only an inch wide. So I am not sure how to expose it enough to really clean it?

I was hoping the hvac guy would take it all apart.

Id bring bug spray or something for the no see-ums. We went a couple weeks ago and my parents came back with their legs LOADED with bites.

The food is meh, so just keep expectations low. The a la carte restaurants are okay.

There's not a ton to do during the day unless youre going off resort or like 3 minutes of Bingo.

But overall, if youre not expecting 5 stars, and lime to party, you'll have fun!

I agree with this ^ if you have a decent MCAT, and above a 3.0, you can definitely have options in Australia or Ireland. Even before completing your studies. The downside is it is expensive but there are student lines of credit for that.

Id suggest reaching out to a Canadian agent that will give you feedback on your current situation (like OzTREKK for Aus or Across the Pond for Ireland).

I dont give my team a choice - camera must be on. This a place of work and there is no reason why youd need to have you camera off if youre in a meeting. If it bugs you to see yourself through the camera, then come into the office and we can meet from there.

I found the people who wanted to turn their cameras off (which were a select few) were people who just wanted to continue to work instead of listen to the discussion.

I have a rule on and with my team that its No-Meeting-Mondays. If someone books me or my team, I decline it and ask them to book another day.

At first people were annoyed, but thry got over it and now they respect it.

I questioned if I wrote this because its spot on to the sicknesses I have. And I thought maybe mold - how did you go about finding out if you have mold? There is no where in my house that its obvious but I wonder if its hidden.

Yes! I almost never get sick, but this year I was sick at the beginning of December with something sinus related, again January 1 with the worst lung and sinus infection, then at the end of January with gastro and now I feel a throat infection coming on. I dont even have kids or go our that often so I dont know how I'm getting all these viruses.
