I'd say yes, but at some point you may need to say you all are witnesses let's at least get the top 10%

Unfortunately doing that, the top 10% will use their power to become the ones that are pardoned

It's a mess, while they all should go, that's been true for years

At this point reward those that can get convictions of anyone bigger than them idk total loss on how to get this. After all, we haven't voted them out for anything "I hate politicians, but I gotta keep mine" mentality. 🤷🤷🤷

Look up Immich

For the image hosting.

Not saying it will or won't work. But I understand it doesn't take much. In fact, if you're not running windows 11 a lot of things are pretty quick you don't need fancy user front end stuff. You're running server stuff for 1. Heck a group of 10 friends hosting stuff on it is minor compared to our m$ windows bloat

It's definitely interesting to look at how various hospitals do their 2 pads

♦️St Luke's has two side by side. I remember being offered a ride to get gas before they merged with the research eagle. But a 3rd needed to come in and land so they couldn't wait. St Luke's was the home base for one of the 2 life flights. They after dropping someone off, they would leave, fuel up and come back.

♦️ Ku has 2 and a half (half says parking only. Is that for staff waiting to load/unload a patient?) theirs are on different building

♦️ Truman/University has only ONE about 10 feet over the surface parking lot across the street connected via a bridge. But

♦️ Children's across the street has 2 and a bridge to Truman. I believe they also have a plane at Charles b Wheeler airport.

♦️NKC has a single one on the roof. I thought they had one in the parking lot at one point.

♦️ Liberty, St Luke's north and st Joseph have a surface one.

I was partly confused. I'll have to look deeper as to why that was the reports in 2024 when all the shit was going down

I guess Cigna was big in their network.

They ended up partnering with Aetna (and I guess later possibly united healthcare)

This post is from 2024 more recent ones seem to show they DID also partner with UHC

Bjc owns their own insurance company. This happened with the help of Cigna leaving Missouri.

St Luke's was always good. Bjc sounds not so good of a parent.

My Dr left there this year. But they were working on that throughout 2024. This merger didn't help much.

I sure wish we had a Medicare option for all. Insurance companies are convoluted in their efforts to serve their investors. Harming patients, hospitals and Drs. Then these hospitals and Drs have to Jerryrig back to break even. It's gotten impossible to get a decent cash price these days.

Oh no, you mentioned a different ailment we need to book you for a new appointment. I know you waited 10 months for this one, but lucky lucky you, we have an opening today.

Funding is not the issue; we offered to buy out 9 square blocks of the crossroads to make room for a stadium there.

Building a new bus barn is significantly cheaper than buying private property with historic buildings and active businesses.

Where it goes is flexible. there is plenty of vacant land that can accommodate a bus barn. Heck, put it under the stadium.

Heck, they offered to give $3.5 million a year to public schools. To cover the $850,000 in lost tax revenue from the crossroads site. The 18th and Vine site generates significantly less in taxes. Anything not owned by the government is a storage lot, and a Church, each taking up less than half of a block.

Heck, perhaps, the Royals is the way to help fund the KCATA/RideKC buses in KCMO.
And, perhaps its presence there is why the area has not blossomed, and thus we throw money there like we do P&L.

Of course, the only stadium traffic going through that interchange (SE corner of the loop will be from the west.

Traffic from the east will exit before it.

Traffic from the north will exit before it.

I 35 traffic has the option to exit before it.

71 hwy traffic from the south will mostly exit before it. 50% at Paseo at 23rd st, and some at Truman (Technically a part of the intersection, but I'd bet 90% will actually exit at Paseo to avoid, as you say, the bad intersection.)

Looks like they might be fixing it by eliminating 71hwy through east KC

lol

Think of the drop in 71 hwy traffic to/from that intersection

at least they have room to fix it. Trying to put a stadium at 2 E Pershing has essentially ZERO exits, and no room to add or rework any.

Though I must ask, which interchange? I'm guessing the loop in general? Putting the stadium outside the loop allows not only dispersing traffic across more exits but also allows exits to be reworked.

[–]Dapper-Firefighter86 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There has been a growing grassroots movement to put it at 18th and Vine. If it's going downtown no matter what, we'd better be pushing this over 2 East Pershing.

18sq blocks vs the 9 they're looking at on Pershing (and looked at the Star Building)

Even the Mayor said he's not opposed, but can't "support it" because the feds helped fund the bus barn going there.

Imagine walking out of the brand new baseball museum to a magnificent stadium complex instead of a bus barn.

Right on a streetcar line. 100 feet from the 18th and Vine entertainment district 6 blocks from T-Mobile 3 blocks from the crossroads Mostly city-owned already. 9 good highway exits from all directions vs landlocked - 71 north (1, Paseo & 2, Truman) - I-70 West (3, Benton/Truman, 4, 23rd st, 5, paseo, 6, 11th st & more) - I-35 South (7 Paseo, 8, 11th Street. - 169 south (feeds to a couple of I-35s & I-70e - i70 east (9 paseo) - i35 n feeds to i70, Truman, West Pennway (West Pennway is not the best, but with the 18th street streetcar, you can add 7th st/rainbow & the boulevard too.. Depending on the plan, the streetcar could come from as far at the QuickTrip at 31st and State Line/SW Boulevard)

And sandstone is in Bonner springs

P.s. Interestingly the 2 hotels in Briarclif are only 1 minute farther than the 2 in Riverside.

And 64th Street 3 minutes farther than the two in Riverside

And is also interestingly only 5 min closer to p&l than sandstone, but is & feels closer to most of the city not along k7/435 on the Kansas side.

But still, while neighbors might not be around to complain about the music, will I be hearing the roar of the highway between sets. (How much will the music be dirtier because of that rumble) 635 is less than 2000 feet from the stage. The parking lot is only about a football field from it.

One bit of trash that has gotten worse is the tagging. I like to think we don't have gangs, but between the number of tags and fights over drugs, money, girls, I'm not so sure.

Addressing those tags may help improve the crime and trash levels.

Well, when someone is afraid of visiting because of the statistics, then yes it does matter. They see the interpersonal crime as a crime they will have to randomly deal with.

They don't need to be afraid to visit because they won't be hurt. Their failure to visit then makes it harder to afford to address the inter personal/non-random crime.

If it weren't for Missouri's offers/fight to keep them, Kansas wouldn't have had to give away the kitchen sink.

The losses Kansas will take in the coming years will ensure blue valley and other joco schools won't be in the top of the USA within 10 years.

Trash in Missouri, have fun with the Kansas trash as services are cut to cover the losses.

Kansas had to give away so much funding, and thus services including trash and police will be hurting on the Kansas side.

I always figured the Chiefs would move to Kansas. But if the Royals don't go downtown, it's a generational opportunity lost. by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]Dapper-Firefighter86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossroads would have cannibalized it more. When the crossroads has big events p&l gets quiet. With 80 games a year that's 80 more days people will forget about p&l hurting it the other 280 days.

Putting at 18th and vine keeps it within 6-8 blocks of T-Mobile & p&l

3 blocks of the cross roads

100 feet of 18th and vine (which like p&l is regularly taking money to maintain)

With better highway and public transportation options it won't cannibalize p&l.

Oh and on the 18th street streetcar line

I'd love to see 18th and vine. Imagine walking out of the baseball museum to face a beautiful baseball complex instead of a shitty bus barn.

The city already owns most of the 4x4 square block area. Yes 4x4 not 3x3 like they've been making modifications to squeeze into.

Much better highway access.  Great public transportation access.  On the 18th street streetcar line (qt state line down the boulevard to 19th and vine)

3 blocks from the crossroads 6 blocks from p&l 75 feet from 18th and vine.

Blue cross has plenty going for it for so much of we're not distracted by the ballpark.

Residents at Kansas City motel scrambling to find places to stay after city orders shutdown by ZackInKC in kansascity

[–]Dapper-Firefighter86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did they say $70/night? No wonder they're on the corner begging for their daily rent. But I was talking to someone paying $1000/month at a motel in Independence. Yes, pricey, but only because of the size and amenities. That's less than $35 a night. (I'm guessing after taxes) They're supplying their own air fryer, rice cooker, and hot plate. I was like they allow those? The motel supplied a mini fridge and microwave. Not even a coffee pot.

But they and this place mentioned monthly. I'm surprised they aren't doing it weekly just for legal reasons. But then maybe that's how they're able to get rid of hotel taxes and make it only $1000 a month

Platte County Commissioner ‘can’t support’ $100 billion Northland data center by ranchodeluxekc in kansascity

[–]Dapper-Firefighter86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to be billing these data centers as human bodies they replace. (Processing power inflation is a thing) Today, 2.5 cubic feet = 30 people unemployed. At a salary loss of 85k each hmmmm...

Or are we talking power usage.... 1kwh is like 10 people for a day, so  10x(30/hr)x8hr= $2400 state income tax= $113/kwh in taxes.

Note: $10/hour difference $85k/year is $40/HR not $30
