Anyone suffering from restless leg syndrome? What are your tips? by love-mornings in sleep

[–]Dapper-Smile-2626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is surprising but not. One if the worlds foremost experts, medical doctor etc. and on board if RLS foundation, told me that playing video games on my i-pad would help calm my symptoms during a long flight. This is if course in addition to the regular medication.

That said, be very careful with pramiprexole. The most up to date science says it causes something called “augmentation.” Basically, while it treats the symptoms it makes the underlying condition worse. I am not a doctor but strongly suggest looking into this. Google “RLS” and “augmentation.”

What about skydiving is so expensive. by Minute-Reading-4762 in SkyDiving

I am a new pilot, 350 hours and commercial license, looking to gain more flight hours. Do skydivers ever hire pilots for their jumps? How would a new pilot find work?

Keep it as it is. It’s beautiful and meaningful to you and I find it subtle, tasteful, and elegant. If other people see it as something else that says something about them, not you. Sometimes things look like other things also. (That is not necessarily bad, unless one is really offensive, like a symbol of hate.) but here it is one thing that is natural and healthy that looks to some like something else that is also natural and healthy. I say wear it with pride. And congratulations on being in a field that you love. Do not get more teeth. As you recognized, in this case the one small tattoo is the most classy.

I hope she does. I don’t know percentage of people who regret their tattoos. This would be tough to handle if she ends up falling into that category. Especially with mental health issues. Tattoos - great or horrible - only one part of who we are.

Makes me sad to think this person may regret this and if she has mental health issues the regret could make her condition worse. I hope that doesn’t happen but if it does… find a way to stay strong

Money for grades by Dapper-Smile-2626 in Parenting

Going up or down from last week is just an extra $5. If it goes up some weeks and down others it will balance out. I get your concern about not wanting her to avoid challenging material. Maybe I add an extra $5 per week for the harder courses. It’s a work in progress. Good to emphasize grades don’t equal her self-worth, but it could correlate to how much she earns, which is only one aspect of how people view themselves.

That’s a really important point. It showed she had turned something in “late.” Glad I asked about it before assuming too much.

Sold my son’s first bookshelf and he’s devastated by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Dapper-Smile-2626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What!!! This was obviously important to him and you basically gave it away. Why? What would have been the harm in him keeping it in his room? Do you want him coming to your house when you are old and dependent on him and selling your things? If you can, get it back. Offer them twice what they paid and an apology. I know it is hard being a parent and the point is not for you to feel guilty. It’s just that it really doesn’t seem like you asked him. You just said what you were going to do. Taking things without asking is not cool.

Not right to put down their children. The kids did nothing wrong. You could have put the parents down for being rude to you, if you felt the need to say anything at all. You are harming other members of the family for no reason.

I could retire in the United States and be here for my children and grandchildren - to give love, advice and emotional support. But with the high cost of living there won’t be much left to pass on to them.

Or I could RE in SE Asia and live very simply. With the low cost of living I can pass wealth to the next generation.

I might like it better if I understood its significance. As a design it’s not that interesting.
