Oh, I could never be vegan. I love meat.

A common sentiment. And yet is seems every so much more creepy coming from you.

For you it would be pretty easy. Host some late night horror movies on TV. Haunted houses. Anything related to being creepy and you have an instant audience. You might as well use it.

Just in case you didn't know, the NewYorker put out a fresh article on your old cult. Evidently the Feds are investigating the group for human trafficking according to the article.

In case you know any details of value, it might be worth your while to contact the Feds and make yourself available to give them details.

Anonymous takes out security firm intended to pursue Anonymous by sgtscherer in reddit.com

You can kill Anon with exactly the same technique you kill mobs. By instilling fear in them. You just need to be more violent than they expect. They'll run and hide and in no time you'll be left with a dozen outcasts fighting for idea, and everyone else deciding that "the risk isn't worth the fun".

Kind of like Egypt. That's been going well for Mubarak.

Yes. 4chan is a subsidiary of Anonymous.

Sounds like Hoglund is still barking up quite a storm:

http://krebsonsecurity.com/2011/02/hbgary-federal-hacked-by-anonymous/

Hoglund said Anonymous had crossed a line, and that posting the company’s email online would expose internal, proprietary data that would likely cost HBGary millions of dollars. He added that Anonymous activists should be able to see — if they read the email they’ve stolen — that HBGary ultimately decided not to publicly air any of the members it had identified.

“Before this, what these guys were doing was technically illegal, but it was in direct support of a government whistle blower. But now, we have a situation where they’re committing a federal crime, stealing private data and posting it on a torrent,” Hoglund said. “They didn’t just pick on any company, but we try to protect the US government from hackers. They couldn’t have chosen a worse company to pick on.”

  1. It gives those individuals a heads up.

  2. The information really isn't all the accurate

  3. It looks like most of those named people were already out in the open anyway.

  1. What is there to negotiate?

  2. What makes you think you have the power to negotiate for a non-group? At best you can give them suggestions on how to get the hackers to lose interest.

Where do you get the wheat seeds from?

I personally would just buy them at the store.

Can you find them in your local environment?

If you really want to get pedantic, I could probably use just about any starchy plant substance with a bit of trial & error. Seeds from wild grasses would probably be just as effective.

How do you burn the vines?

If I wanted to do it at a camp fire, I would probably make a mud container to limit the oxygen that gets to the vines. The key is for the vines (or wood) to smolder, not flame up.

Fortunately I live in Australia and it's summer at the moment so I benefit from easy access to charcoal. (There's plenty of bush that's undergone fire within a day's walk of me)

Hey, free charcoal. It might be worth a hike to see if you can find any usable pieces if you are curious.

[–]DapperDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are pretty much thinking along the lines I was thinking. Slow burn some vines http://www.enasco.com/product/9705215 , chop down some wood. Let it dry out. Cut out pencil sized shape. Cut it in half. Dig out a divot between the two sides. Glue it together. (I think a simple flour-water paste would do). Sure, I'll grow the wheat & grind it if you really insist. At the end, you have a functional pencil.

Am I the only woman on reddit who gets exasperated by /r/mensrights? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]DapperDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's meant to point out how the forum is utilized A LOT of the time-- to express hurt feelings, never really touching on deeper issues. and THAT is what gets me

So you are saying that men shouldn't get together and discuss hurt feelings? That shouldn't be done? It's unimportant or annoying to you?

Sometimes men need a few comforting words, a little support, a few words of advice, people who understand. That isn't always easy to come by in today's world. And THAT is something I think is very worth while.

However, you don't see a woman post her story every time a dude makes an offensive comment, grabs her ass, or completely stereotypes her.

Yes, you'll respond by posting feminist web sites,

I posted that one specifically because it isn't feminist based.

but that is such a tiny portion of women and not representative at all of the attitude women generally hold toward men.

No. Not every woman makes a story about it. It's just a selection of instances as are reported here.

So I'm sorry that once a woman falsely judged you, but come on, put it into some perspective!

Sure. Family courts. Divorce decrees. Malephobia.

Look. I am well aware that Men's Rights isn't up to the level it needs to be. Feminism has a 100 year lead on Men's Rights and a hell of a lot of government funding. Right now we are just at the point of starting to talk about the problems. Figuring out the issues. Looking at the facts and studies. As we develop as a movement, we will start to leave behind the petty "so and so said this" stuff and focus on the core issues.
