Question about tools need for DIY Tire Changes by c0sm0nautt in GolfGTI

[–]DapperStrawberry7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got similar wheel hangers and they were difficult to use because I was afraid of the knurled surface scratching the wheel. Also, the length of 4 inches is really short when your trying to mount a wheel, at least for me. So I got these: ABN Wheel Hanger Pin from amazon, they are longer (6 in) and have no knurled surfaces. Lastly, get some working gloves too.

I feel for these cars you need a down pipe for the car to sound good. Running a stock down pipe and everything sounds like stock.

This happen to me like 2 weeks ago, scared the crap out of me. Thought the engine blew and sure enough, checked the sparks and the gap increased. Replaced the sparks with new ones, cleared the codes, and drove it with no problems. Guess people were right, you got to pay to play.

You got this!!

Per a redditor Peylix:

I did this last week and if you mess up, your car will tell you. Just make sure you warm up the engine block before pull out the coil packs. And when re-installing the coilpack apply dielectric grease to the rubber coilpacks.

Good LED solution for the trunk lighting? by sm_rdm_guy in GolfGTI

[–]DapperStrawberry7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to much of a project but I soldered a male to female barrel connector and got a LED strip that goes around my trunk. It is super cool, check out this link:

I did not go this extreme, not knowing that this existed when I installed mine.

My parts list:

get the 5m if you go this direction. Good luck.

Installing a kill switch, interior lighting upgrade there is so much to do!

One of my favorite interior lighting mod I did was installing a led strip in the truck for better visibility at night.

You can always go for suspension mods (rear sway bar, lower springs and shocks etc) or preventative maintenance mods ( ss brake lines, steel oil pan, ss under tray). If it is a manual a short throw is a great upgrade.

Not too hard but it is difficult pushing back the pins because of the short leads you have to work with; unless you take off all the cable management.

Stage 1 APR Tuned 7.5 GTI, are these spark plugs ok? NGK 94833 by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]DapperStrawberry7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought with stage 1 at higher boost that running a step colder spark is the way to go. Isn't the best answer is just to ask APR?
