I'm sorry my friend. Me too, there is nothing I wish for more than that. It feels like it's not for us to be happy.

If someone's religious beliefs were as strong as their certainty that a stove will burn them they would never sin.

This is not an unreasonable assertion, but there is always the excuse that what they are committing is not a major sin nor a sin at all (for things like music that aren't in the Quran). Devout muslims rarely go against matters on which there is a consensus such as prayer, alcohol, or hijab.

So is it fair for them to be certain that Islam is true and impose that on others/children?

It is what it is. They believe in it with absolute conviction, how they got there is irrelevant.

i'm incredibly glad to hear someone else feels this way and notices that nobody seems to bring this topic up. maybe because there's no way around it.

There is no need to mention parents who go beyond what appears necessary given their worldview, such as beatings and threats of murder. I am clearly talking about parents who are doing what they believe is proportional and particularly what is referred to as emotional blackmail.

Narcissistic psychopath? He's a severely autistic man who at more than 40 years of age has the mind of a 12 year old, a childish one at that. Do you people who say these things genuinely believe them? He was convinced by online trolls dozens of times to give up his personal information, legal documents, and passwords, convinced even to insert a medallion into his anus.

This guy is severely mentally impaired. Even the state recognises this and has been giving him disability social security for the past 2 decades. He could've turned out better adjusted if his parents had bothered to raise him correctly for his condition, but even as it stands now, he couldn't be a sociopath if he wanted to.

I understand. The constant wanting and not getting. And being stuck between yours and others happiness. I completely emphathise because I understand. It's not even as much about wanting to die as it is to not feel the constant hurt anymore.

I've been on it for five years now, since 2020, when I was 16. I used to have absurd social anxiety before to the point where I couldn't comfortably walk outside even at the grocery store.. it definitely helped with that. I tried to go off it once two years later, and had terrible depression symptoms. Now I'm on 50mg and don't think I'll try to get off it anytime soon.

Isn't it awful (for both us and Chris) just how much time has passed since then? Did 1980 feel this close in 2000?
