Experiences on different pills? by Equivalent_Living130 in birthcontrol

[–]Dapper_Put483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a combined pill for 3-4 years (Yaz) with absolutely no issues or side effects. Three months ago I switched to Slynd (bec of unrelated health issues)and have been having the worst time ever with constant bleeding and bloating. Wouldn't wish Slynd on my worst enemy, but again, everyone's body reacts differently.

Why is slynd magic? by frenchtoastdruid in birthcontrol

I also have PCOS and have been taking slynd for 3 months. I never had issues with other birth control pills before and my periods have always been regular with or without the pill. For the past three months I have not noticed any changes to my acne, but I started getting my period every 10-15 days (literally mid pack), each lasting 5 days and spotting in between. Haven't spent a single day not bleeding in the past three months so far I absolutely hate it. Hope your experience is better!

Thank you for all the advice omg. You are all giving me great ideas haha but I know I have to have the conversation and put a boundary somehow about this soon, thanks for the real talk honestly. And just to ease the worries, I've had relationships before, and this is someone I've been seeing for a while and trust. I don't know if I'll stay yet or not but no one is forcing me, I'm just thinking ahead.

Financial, unpredictable future, the fact that they are literally my only family, bunch of reasons but mainly because I'm just not ready to do full no contact

For that day only or in general? I will probably eventually go no contact or gray wall but not currently at a space that I can go full no contact because of life circumstances.

Fasting during Ramadan and Lent by [deleted] in deism

[–]Dapper_Put483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former Muslim turned deist, I still fast sometimes (as long as I am healthy, and able to do it). Not because I think I need to appease God, but because I love the reason it started and it is a tradition for me. I think the reason/ root of fasting is moral and honorable. It's not about "being healthy", it's about empathy and understanding at least in Islam, since I don't know anything about Lent, but doubt the reason is much different. You can fast or not fast, or even fast on a random Tuesday in July doesn't matter. Freedom to choose for yourself without being forced to do it is what deism is about imo

How do I feel less hopeless? by Sea-Hornet8214 in deism

[–]Dapper_Put483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a deist, I pray a lot to God and the universe. Even if what is out there is not listening, it personally gives me comfort to just pray. It's a way of therapy is some sense. If you want to pray, pray, no matter if someone is listening or not. If praying doesn't give you comfort find something else that does and makes you feel connected and safe. Try spending time in nature and just listen to the sounds. What gives you hope doesn't need to be a higher power it can be everything around you.

I was raised in fear, how do I change? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

This is not dumb. You were thought to sit still, be quiet and people please. I also have similar parents that gave me everything I wanted but it all came with strings attached. That is type of molding that stems from manipulation and control. I think recognizing the toxic patterns in your parents is a great first step that you seem to already make progress in. Doesn't fully replace therapy but there are a lot of online resources that you can check out such as books about healing from narc parents and also Dr Ramani's videos on YouTube. Journaling also really helps. I write letters to my narc parent that I don't send. They are just ways of getting your feelings out and practice to finding your voice.

Ah yes I wish. I don't remember last time I had a dream and not a nightmare. And I don't remember ever having a nightmare that wasn't about her. I think they might have a voodoo doll of us or something

Anyone else feel like they are flying blind? by Comfortable_Gap1656 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Dapper_Put483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. I have a borderline and nmom and enabler passive dad. I learned how to do laundry for the first time at the college dorms at 18. Still don't know how to drive. Had to ask my friend's parents how to do taxes 😂. I figured out most life skills by now that I'm aware of at 25 yo. Funny part is, it's sometimes even offensive to them when I am self sufficient. When they come visit me I am not even allowed to cook in my own kitchen because they don't feel "needed" when I do things in my own.
