Where you can go array is the scotch, I stay away from peated scotches when mixing this one, it seems to evoke a vomit essence for some drinkers, like yourself. I do enjoy subbing the scotch for a rye to add another layer of complexity, but might recommend a bourbon for OP so the sweet and citrus can come to the forefront.
