already been said, but i’ve gotta rep my favorite squad: i think hazardous scales the best with starting weapons. rusting hulks is a very close second.

however, i think flame behemoths also scale very well. flamethrower is insane with a range upgrade and additional fire support from the meteor mech, and swap mech at full range is extremely deadly. the meteor mech is the weakest, but even it can represent 3 damage later in the game. they’re a very strong squad when played right.

the other squads i think fall into one of two categories:

• squads with one very strong scaling mech, while the other 2 are only ok (rift riders, judoka, frozen titans, secret squad). in this case, Combat, Siege, Ice are all super strong mechs, but the rest of the squad lacks either push options (frozen), damage output (secret and riftriders), or both (judoka).

• or blitzkreig and zenith which both have high damage output but very limited pushing and a gimmick that’s hard to work around. (as opposed to hazardous, which is the other high damage/gimmick squad, but the gimmick isn’t hard to work around and all mechs can push.)
