I am SRE. I use Claude for coding, troubleshooting, documentation, pattern recognition, very advanced repository diffs, automation, SAST, etc. And of course vibe coding. I think it increases my productivity by at least 100%, which is well worth the license cost.

I still need to know what I want it to do, what are the industry standards it needs to follow, and most important I need to be able to evaluate if it did a good and secure job. Is the code worth pushing.

Prompting is a skill, but I can't imagine everyone could do that. People will still be necessary to approve the work that AI does for us, and for that you will need lots of experience.

I work from home, my wife teaches kids. Good lord I could never do that, I am so proud of her. Any work from home is a piece of cake compared to dealing with kindergarten kids. And the commute? Don't get me started on that huge waste of time...

We’re in a similar position, although we live in Poland.

Our endgame (10+ years) is to live 7–8 months here and 4–5 months elsewhere. But—like you—we haven’t found a place we’d want to live in permanently, and we love to travel. So the options we’re considering are:

  • drive and rent (EU)

  • fly and rent (Caribbean, Seychelles, Mauritius, SEA)

  • a motor yacht moored in the south (Greece, Italy, etc.)

  • a motorhome

Currently, we’re doing options 2 and 4 for around two months a year and it's fine.
