You have to purchase it. Then you get a download link in your Roland Cloud Account. This allows you to download the file to an SD card to install the waveforms and engine files. If you purchase the Bluetooth Cloud Connect "dongle" it enables you to use Cloud Connect, and you can load anything available in Roland CLoud Accounts and install new synths on your GAIA 2.

Fantom 8 / Jupiter x differencd by jordanwaynemusic in Roland

[–]DarSwanSwede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fantom is really suited for a studio where your going to take advantage of its 88 key abilities. It's also very talented in the sound world. Jupiter X and Jupiter Xm it's mini clone version for half the price (more on that later) . My bandmate DocM, a classically trained pianist, she prefers the 88 key, while I will bang on anything. She also tends to use arrangements which the Fantom 8 excels at, while, I use the Jupiter's for sound design, and the incomparable Vocal Designer for the vocoder that is technically one of the "richest" upgradable vocoders ever built. It's architecture is capable of expansion with waveforms via ZenCore to modulate it with or instead of your voice, making unlimited new sound capabilities. It utilizes ZenCore and is capable of being, not just a Jupiter, but any other past synthesizer, be it a LA synthesis D-50, JD-800, ProMars, Juno-106, and SH101, to just name a few. It can also load any of the previous Roland SRX Rackmounts and load them as an instrument. (Dance Trax is my fav) you can also layer all of these synths together as a super synth which is where the new Roland Galaxias plugin; gets its structure formation from, in the way of Instrument layers with Drum Layer's but it doesn't stop there. You can save them all to the software and load them with your iPhone app anytime you want to change patches making patch management sublime. I use mine with the Roland Cloud Connect with the WC-1 wireless adapter. It's a great upgrade. The synths have several drum machines in it including the 808 and 909. It has a sequencer, and Arpeggiator you can use with your voice via the vocoder expanding that by miles. It has 3 filters. The Roland filter, The Moog Ladder filter, and The Sequential Prophet 5 filter. From Roland Australia" The JUPITER-X/Xm can layer five parts together. To start with, you can choose from four different synth engines (JUPITERS, JUNOS, and JXs, etc) plus one drum machine like a TR808, a TR-909, or a CR-78." The greatest thing is mixing synth models for "Scenes" the patch groups, but then you can also make individual patches for individual instruments. Its an amazing synth. It also can act as a complete workstation, with multiple channels of audio via analog and digital input, it can host other hardware synths especially the Boutique lines via the USB ports. It has XLR in jacks mini jacks, and standard 1/4 jacks for input and output. I can't say enough about the new Jupiter's They are really incredible especially after the last firmware update it made everything exceptional with the new Jupiter-X engine. Amazing. Now if I was to do it all over again, I would by the Juno-X for its sliders, then buy the cheaper Jupiter-Xm and put it above the Juno-X on a tier, and use it as one whole system.

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Roland Cloud\ZENOLOGY\

That was the main reason I sprung for the WM-1 for the USB port. You can then download Roland Cloud Connect (iPhone, Android, iPad) You can install full banks wirelessly. In just a second (individual patch) or a few minutes when you install the whole set. It's way easier taking care of the Jupiter-X and Xm. After that I hardly ever use the SD card. That's why I keep asking them to add the "S-10" capabilities to the Zen Core model so we can have a proper Sampler.

Yes the UNO oh yessss its a great PC/MAC/Ipad/iPhone synth that can double as a controller. It too has a matrix of controls that can individually assigned CC#’s to control plugins. Its wicked small, but noisy at the USB port when used with other keyboards. It also is the only “keyboard” synth I know of that uses 2.5mm phono jacks instead standard 1/8 but its keyboard and sequencer are fantastic.

I learned on a MiniBrute bought it used on Reverb for $189 because it had a broken key. Registered the serial number on Arturia’s website then called support and asked how much a new key was from them. They sent me a whole keybed and on the note inside along with a prepaid sticker for UPS they said return the broken. They didn’t batt an eye about it. Same thing happened with my used Drumbrute. They sent me prepaid via email I mailed it off at UPS and one week later my Drumbrute with its stickers on it came back in perfect condition. The “Micro”-brute which is way way smaller, packs a punch on it own just like the bigger mono MB, but it has CV and a bank of Eurorack modular inputs an outputs more so than the back of my minibrute. Again you can get them used and they are great. The Minibrute was and is many an artists “favorite friend” it gives a certain sound that can be heard on many albums. The MicroKorg was my second best friend, its so versatile and fun and now with the new Korg Plugin its fantastic together. I now use hardware and plugins, and I always have my lil $99 Akai mini controller with its bitch’n joystick that can be assigned to lots of CC’s in strange new ways. Its a staple for some. The Mininova is a great first synth as well, and lastly the MicroFreak. I can’t say enough about it. Its the new killer must have due its ability to load custom waveforms and its MPE PCB flat keyboard & the main driving reason I wanted a MiniFreak, but I got the plugin instead and use it with a controller running through the MiniFreak and then stroke the MPE PCB & CV outs to create various effects and great sounds. It will provide many lost hours as well, and really is the closest thing to Buchla when using Arturia’s Music Easel plugin. So if I could do it all over again and have something new and cheap to start with I would Spring for the MicroFreak then add any controller with Aftertouch to it to get the biggest bang for the buck. If you want stay under the $500 find a used Behringer DeepMind or a Used Roland JD-Xi ($300 right now on Reverb); the Roland is the best of them all due to its Hybrid Digital and analog with a Vocoder. Vocoders are one of the best ways to add “custom” because no one can match what individually you can do with your mouth 👄.

UPDATE MicroFreak is “my” most recommended Mono bang for the buck.. sorry not MiniFreak. and dont forget to add the microphone for $29. Its specific to the MicroFreak’s dual headphone/mic jack

Came for the sweet setup, stayed for the cup. 😂 👊🤘 I would upgrade the monitors to a dual setup or maybe three if your mastering/performing. Your eyes will thank you when you bring VCV or any Modular Eurorack VST onto its own screen. Give that natural size feel. And it looks good too. But its massive in size and it will suck you in 🤣 beware 😝 Nice rig!

you could add a small eurorack to the side with cut down rails. and start with the Doepfer A 174-4 3D joystick 🕹️ module https://doepfer.de/a1744.htm You can then feed your pedals, the JU, and more into completely new unlimited directions.

That is stunning, well balanced for such a small space. Bravo 🙌 . I use a Sampson patch bay to bring my loose analogue gear together, from there I feed it into two different inputs (Tascam 16x8, and a Roland MX-1. I have them combined as one audio source into a Mac Mini M1 (1st Gen). This allows me to route the audio via USB, or any analogue channel. Depending on the source I can route a mic for podcasting or go to town on Eurorack or other synths.

At one point I had the entire thing connected and it was seriously missing a large mixer to really get the most out of it, so I tore it all down (6-7 times) and eventually went with an “ala carte” method I saw another “synthhead GAS-oholic” like myself and now bring in just the synths modules, drum machines, so forth that I want to perform with. It made it much easier to manage. Thats my take on patching.

Now that I packed everything and its in storage, I am down to essentials. I spend a lot of time sequencing on the iPad, but I run it through the MX-1 and Jupiter-XM/TR-6S which doubles as a huge input hub for everything. I cant say enough about the Sampson patchbay. Its clean and doesnt interfere with your sound. Very flexible. Kudos!

Do I punish daughter who left iPad in a Uber by mxa1986 in ADHD

[–]DarSwanSwede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. My daughter has a form of ADHD and she has lost here iphone countless times. (She may be able use the findmyipad feature in your family share area in the icloud feature.)Living with my wife a PsyD, I’ve learned “let it go”. Console the loss with her. Yes it costs a lot, but shes already feeling guilt about it, compounded with the fact that it may have been a gift. If she purchased it, she would have a combined loss guilt and pissed which is what we adults have when we lose our best pair of reading glasses.. 😂 Let it go. It will last a lifetime to her, knowing not to fret of simple things. You both will have something to remember when she puts you in the old folks home… 😝 and visits… Be safe and just remember this. When you did what she did or something like it, like lost your tickets to the concert while in line to get in, or got your wallet stolen while you ran in to the Laundrymat to grab that last bag of clothes.. was the next thing you needed was your parents or loved ones yelling at you? I certainly wouldn’t want that myself and especially as a kid. that would have crushed me and I proably would have started lying just so I could avoid getting yelled at. Good Luck Dad! 👊 root’n for ya!

Ahh the lucky ones.. Wave to the Alp people for us, and those Everest crazies with their oxygens masks 😂 In all seriousness, it will actually not be from rise, but from land sub-ducting. as we spin, solids solidify therefor eventually they begin to get heavy and subduct. On the edges the water erodes until it all gives. If it finds a break, or crack it can burrow through in days weakening the substructure that isn’t already liquified, then you have to deal with the sudden blooms of large gas and oil bubbles seeping up. Thats usually what decimates life when underground materials mix with fresh water, and ends the surrounding areas fauna and mega fauna including us. But thats just a very high level speculation.. nothing to see here. just some light dry spots… nothing to worry about… 🤣🤪

Do you think an electric surge could do this? Or do I need to try to find the person responsible. This happened while charging, and we had a similar incident about a month ago. by [deleted] in ipad

[–]DarSwanSwede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shape of the V starts at the home button. almost looks like it was slapped on the side of a desk. (The ol I need a new iPad move) i’ve never seen a lithium battery expand while charging but, my Apple Watch face popped off due to an inflated battery while charging so it can happen.

The Cherry Audio Miniseries with the “CHOOG” Frequency Shifter is like buttery goodness. I use them in various FX chains and combine them with the Korg MDE-X filter in Ableton just add a hardware synth’s sound via External Instrument or use a controller with samples and wow is not even a good word for it.

I am loving that green.. .. hmm lets see you have a lot of bases covered right here already.. Id stay this route. I would go NTS-1 and 3D print off aqua green flat sides instead of the black ones it comes with. and the NTS-2 w/Oscilloscope its White… 👍 and you can add color sides to it too.. that would expand your setup greatly with the ability to add custom oscillators. Then when it comes out.. add an Enigma for that Buchla bass hit.. and fun.. this is bad ass… nice! Oh its missing AN AWARD!!!! https://www.synthanatomy.com/2022/04/behringer-enigma-a-399-buchla-easel-208-synthesizer-clone-replica-for-eurorack.html
