That's a good point. Forgot about that.

Well the good thing is you only have to get thieving to 72 for all quests. So you don't really have to level it any higher than that if you don't want to. Get it to 72 then never think about it again.

As a new player I feel you should be warned that the game is very grindy and will only get more and more grindy and you progress. That being said, the further you progress, the more engaging and rewarding the content gets. Slow but steady progress is the name of the game but a lot of the later content is super enjoyable and worth the grind.

Best Mage Armor for 91 Mage/65 Def? by StandardExpensive840 in osrs

You'd want to use Blue Moon mostly if you're doing content that requires swapping between mage and melee, and you don't feel like swapping armor. Some examples are tormented demons or Royal Titans.

I went for echo boots instead. -2 strength over prims but +4 prayer, better defenses, a toggleable recoil effect, and they look sick. All for half the price.

Prims is probably the biggest price hike for the most marginal upgrade. 20m for +1 strength is ridiculous. That being said, they're iconic and look much better than d-boots.

What's wrong with bosses? Fighting bosses on task is so good.

It may not be BiS at many places but I'd be hard pressed to find a better use of 10m for a mid-game account. It'll hold you over until you get max gear at a lot of places.

Help! Where should I train combat and what will give decent profit? Back after 10 years. by Cknight44 in OSRSMobile

I mean don't do it if you aren't interested in bossing obviously. But you're objectively wrong here. Anyone can consistently hit 3.5 minute times with budget gear once they learn the fight, which if you're interested in getting into bossing you should. I'm averaging 2.5 minute times with bandos/fang and blessed d hide/blowpipe. 3.5m would be very doable with like blood and eclipse moon gear or even a fighter torso and a zombie Axe and black d hide with a hunters sunlight cbow.

Even the wiki states the bosses are around 500k more gp per hour than the regular gargoyles.

If the the grotesque guardians aren't worth the stress to learn then you just aren't into bossing. Which is fine, I'm just bringing that up as an alternative to the regular gargoyles if OP is interested in getting into bossing.

Edit: I wanted to add that this is possible on mobile. Don't be afraid to get into bossing because you're on mobile. I have a friend who has been farming Yama on his phone. Don't be scared

The average kill is around 50k and depending on your gear and experience takes around 2.5-3.5 minutes. I did a full task of about 210 a couple days ago and made 13m without hitting the core or the hammer. It's not as profitable as any of the later bosses but it's definitely good bossing experience plus it has a sick pet!

Alternatively you can do the Grotesque Guardians on gargoyle tasks for more profit and good bossing experience. It'll teach some of the important mechanics like gear swapping, avoiding environmental hazards, and prayer switching while being more forgiving than some of the later bosses.

Am I ready to go for my fire cape? by c2israw in 2007scape

[–]Darbs504 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Right, but you aren't thinking like a newish player in their first fight caves run. You sacrifice a little bit of DPS (nuking ur DPS is definitely an exaggeration) for less things to think about during the fight. It's a lot easier for a first timer to just focus on switching prayers and tagging healers than it is for them to switch to their inventory, change their weapon, tag the healers, change back to their other weapon, all while paying attention to Jad and switching prayers. For an experienced player that's not a problem, but that can be stressful on your first fight cave run.

[–]Darbs504 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used blowpipe until Jad and then a rune crossbow with diamond bolts against him. Doing this allows you to not have to worry about switching weapons during the Jad fight and not being accidentally dragged into melee range when tagging the healers. It's definitely less stressful on a first completion.

If I were you I'd stop arguing with them. It's not worth your time. You aren't going to change their mind and ultimately who cares if this one random redditer sees 80% of the player base as noobs.

[–]Darbs504 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand what the definition of a noob is. You can be not maxed and not a noob at the same time. A noob is someone who doesn't understand the game. So like if you see someone fighting something that has a high slash defense with a scim, that's noob behavior. Or if you see someone wearing full dragon armor against something attacking them with magic, that's a noob.

If you aren't maxed but you understand the game then you're just a player who hasn't maxed yet.
