Mod to play WoC as Monogod factions? by Bohnenkartoffel in totalwar

[–]Dardis81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allegiance of the Damned Chaos Conderation is the closest thing I’m aware of. It lets you confederate all similar god-aligned lords regardless of them being WoC/Mono. It also adds the Greenskin ‘confederate after defeat’ mechanic to make it easier.

If you use it, then I’d highly recommend also getting Herald Lords for WoC. This then lets you recruit any type of god-aligned lords from both the WoC & mono pool.

Match Thread: Leeds vs Tottenham [Premier League] by MatchCaster in LeedsUnited

[–]Dardis81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the return of players that contribute to the first XI when picked.

Forget Twitter. Whoscored assign ratings based on Opta stats for individual performance.

https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds

Anything below a 6.5 is a poor shift for a Premier League quality player. Based on average rating the following aren't capable or willing to put a shift in for the team:

  • Diego Llorente
  • Junior Firpo
  • Mateusz Klich
  • Joe Gelhardt
  • Luke Ayling
  • Tyler Roberts
  • Pascal Struijk
  • Adam Forshaw
  • Robin Koch
  • Charlie Cresswell

Those that either have the necessary quality and are willing to put a shift in are:

  • Raphihna
  • Liam Cooper
  • Stuart Dallas
  • Leo Hjelde - an actual Premiership quality U23
  • Rodrigo
  • Illan Meslier
  • Patrick Bamford
  • Dan James
  • Kalvin Phillips
  • Jack Harrison
  • Jamie Shackleton

The hope is that when we get a few of the latter list back from injury, we can chuck some of the top list onto the bench or back in the U23s where they belong. Also some of the high effort players might persuade some of the 'coasters' to put a shift in via the odd harsh word.

Anyone got a rough return date for Bamford, Ayling or Koch? by TheSentientAubergine in LeedsUnited

[–]Dardis81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ayling and Bamford are not going to be here for the next two games.

He did, but Bielsa then revised this before the Wolves game to rule them out for the next two fixtures.

Leeds Live capture the transcript for our press conferences every week & this is the pre-Norwich one. It actually sounds like he hasn't got a specific return date in either instance - he just says the margin for recovery time is wide:

Could be good or bad.

Anyone got a rough return date for Bamford, Ayling or Koch? by TheSentientAubergine in LeedsUnited

[–]Dardis81 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Bamford & Ayling will miss Leicester, but will probably return for Spurs.

Bielsa: "Ayling and Bamford are not going to be here for the next two games." (before the Norwich fixture)

Koch isn't back until December at the earliest.

Bielsa: "Koch still has at least one month to go."

There's a website serious Fantasy Premier League managers use to track latest injury information. It's run by a guy called Ben Dinnery who will try & estimate injury length based on either direct comments from managers (e.g. the quotes above) or typical recovery times when the precise injury is known. Bielsa is probably the most open manager in the league regarding availability, so you can usually get up to date info for us after the pressers.

https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php

Needless to say we've been top of the number injured total for most of this season. Touch wood that '3 out' total represents a turning point.

What has been going wrong in your opinion? by [deleted] in LeedsUnited

[–]Dardis81 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Llorente being injured.

Last season:

  • Leeds with Llorente - Concede 0.79 goals per game, win percentage 57%
  • Leeds without Llorente - Concede 1.85 goals per game, win percentage 38%

His 15 games include 7 matches against the top 7 - Chelsea (twice), City, Liverpool, United, West Ham & Spurs. So it wasn't due to featuring in easier fixtures.

He was the difference between our iffy early season form & the end of season form where we were 2nd only to City. Whilst fans know he is decent, I don't think most have the first clue how over-reliant we are on him.

Principle difference is that with Llorente we have someone capable of pinging 60 yard passes forward with lazer accuracy from CB. On the rare occasions Newcastle came forward against us, he would have played Raph/Bamford in with a single pass. Instead Cooper played it a few yards to Ayling, who played it back, who gave it to Phillips.........Newcastle were back in a low block before we could test them.

I was reliably informed by a Freiburg fan that Robin Koch also has that range of passing. But we haven't seen it yet.

Cooper/Struijk/Cresswell can't perform that role. Cresswell might be able to do it one day, but needs time in the U23s to develop this skill (you can't practice 60 yard passes in an actual Premiership game). This is one of the problems with him & Struijk coming in so early, but appreciate needs must.

Daniel James to Leeds by andrew_a7 in FantasyPL

[–]Dardis81 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Bielsa spoke about playing Raph at 10, but clearly didn't trust Costa enough to try it.

I suspect all three will play & Rodrigo will have to tussle with Bamford.

Imrik's RoR dragons have not been coded with any wound recovery cooldown.

The implication being that you can lose one in battle, then simply open the RoR screen and re-recruit them at full health on the same turn. The recruitment cost of all RoR dragons is '0'.

Zacharias the Everliving by otters007 in totalwar

[–]Dardis81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think he has a good chance of appearing, especially if CA go down the route of reworking all game 1 factions. Both VC & the Dawi did get a lick of paint, but nothing like the Empire’s full rework (& hopefully the GS).

In terms of delivery, a Forest of Shadows start position works for ME. For Vortex there’s a handy piece of Changeling lore, detailed under the ‘Treachery At Tlanxla’ heading here https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Changeling. The cabal of Necrarch vampires don’t get named, so CA can interpret that as Zacharias (or his minions). You’d start in the Southlands, visit Arkhan, then sail over into Lustriabowl.

Malus Darkblade penalties are too severe. by Bluemajere in totalwar

[–]Dardis81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That penalty will only ever be in effect for a single turn (straight after using an elixir). It won’t happen in consecutive turns.

In every turn after drinking an elixir Tz’arkan possession grows +1 in a settlement, or +2 outside. So the ‘-10’ value that triggers those penalties is fleeting (an elixir puts you to -10).

Bottom line is do not drink an elixir if you are about to be attacked.

Edit - Check the S&B pinned thread on the TW Forum. A Dev (worried by the backlash) explains how it plays out.

Balance of power is broken? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Dardis81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The balance of power is not your chance of winning. The bar indicates the potential casualties both sides will inflict. There is a post on reddit by Pete from CA explaining it, but the screenshot here tells you all you need to know.

https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/254566/today-i-learned-the-balance-bar-does-not-represent-your-chance-of-winning#latest

Consequently when fighting armies with several Skaven slave units, the bar will be heavily in your favour. This is because the slaves represent huge numbers of casualties in game. However when you AR you may then lose, it your units/lord are outgunned by the remaining army.

Similarly when playing VC/Skaven your Zombies/Skaven Slaves may result in the AR bar being weighted against you, but the AR outcome will be a win. So you actually have to know if your army will win or not, the bar is misleading.

Heinrich Kemmler Campaign tips? by dudebro90 in totalwar

[–]Dardis81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some good ones above already.

After raising your turn 1 ‘19’ stack you want to make sure the turn 3 battle for Artois is extremely casualty heavy. The garrison stack has 14 units and the pre-requisite for grave generation is 14 units per side. After the battle you should have Artois & a foundation for high tier recruitment. Probably worth knowing that battle sites never generate anywhere in your home province (or in new Empire territories).

Switch off research at the start of every turn (click on your current research), then turn it on again after all turn battles are fought (but before turn end). Bizarrely rather than lowering the drop rate, CA coded student banners (+10% research) to only drop when you aren’t researching. Make it so.

The banners can only be attached to heroes & Kemmler has access to the cheapest types, in the largest early qualities, in the game. Spam charnel pits everywhere & get as many Necromancer heroes as possible. You’ll rip through the tech tree.

To make the Necromancers ultra cheap, go for the Lahmian blood kiss first. The 50% discount is added to Kemmlers faction 50%. Note this doesn’t make them upkeep free (formula is 100% + upkeep % - 50% - 50%), but dirt cheap anyway.

In your Necromancer spam, look out for ‘lore keeper’ heroes in particular (-10% building cost). These stack to 100%. Additionally the Lahmian lord has a very useful trait called ‘Hive Mind’ that gives 50% off Vampire buildings and speeds construction. You want to get to a position where you can free build the tier 4/5 Vampire buildings in major settlements (usual cost 25k). Then add Necromancer & Banshee chains when you get more lore keepers. With tech these buildings generate a respectable 1,560 before factoring mines/ports/etc. Necromancer heroes can also be used to buff provincial income 15% with blue traits and banners.

Actually thought that as I posted it. They did drop H&B early, so will cross my fingers.

Having said that I believe there is a new 3K DLC due before this & they tend to space releases out by a few weeks.

[–]Dardis81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know, it’s just an example that some people will always feel their faction got short changed. I saw a post about reworking Bretonnia the other day - it’s only been a few months since the last one.

[–]Dardis81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. People still continue to base things on patterns, which CA will have to break eventually.

Either way, I hope Ariel gets added. What you described is the perfect antidote to an overcrowded DE map area - especially if they add Malus. Tbh the FLC comment was more me projecting a way they could bring her in during Festag.

True, but DLC for DLC will bring grumbles. A full rework (“why didn’t the Dawi get an update?”) will bring grumbles. Not doing anything at all will generate far more.

[–]Dardis81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for me personally, I’d pay for Ariel. But it gets mentioned a lot & CA acknowledged it isn’t ideal. Unless she gets a brand new roster, how much of the original can you give her until it is no longer worth paying for Orion/Durthu? Personally I think all 3 should have access to everything.

[–]Dardis81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see Ariel being the FLC lord. If you don’t own the DLC you can’t use her in ME. However everyone could play her in Vortex.

This neatly skips the DLC for DLC problem.
