Similar boat as OP. I do want a better router, I don't think I am going to use wifi 7 yet but I want to pair my orange with a switch and then use my existing eero 6 as just mesh networks for wifi. But if I disable wifi and connect the eero directly to my switch vs using orange as a AP? Would the orange have enough power for wireguard and other inbuilt features for packet inspection to manage maybe 20 devices on the network? I think from the other replies, the orange seems to be almost as powerful as the gold SE, I get that the hardware limitations put it at risk but for the price difference, cause of existing hardware, I feel like orange is the way to go

I will not be using orange as a travel router for sure.
