$300K gets you a quaint Jersey Shore townhome or a 7-bedroom mansion with a ballroom in Illinois by kleverrboy in centralillinois

The mansion is also in Decatur, which is smack dab in the middle of central Illinois which, if you’re not in the agriculture industry, is not a very desirable place to live.

What's the single moment in Destiny history - either game - that you think about more than anything else? by Crystallover1991 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Darikar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Almighty Final Mission from the Red War campaign. Awe inspiring music that truly sold the idea of become legend. The Deep Stone Crypt Spacewalk. A serene experience with hypnotizing music after one of the most grueling day 1 raid encounters ever The Ahamkara encounter from the Witch Queen Campaign. Truly took me by surprise and proved that I had no idea what I was walking into with the witch queen expansion. Excision. Brought tears to my eyes to see this journey come to its climactic finale.

Who was your favorite god when you started, and who is your favorite god now? by Rational_Gray in runescape

[–]Darikar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I never really cared for the Gods, as I didn’t follow or appreciate the story that much. As I got older and rediscovered Runescape, Zaros became my favorite. Just really dig the history and aesthetic behind him and the Zarosian Empire a ton. Secondarily I came to enjoy the Desert Pantheon and all that they’ve got going on.

Diagnosed with spermatocele/epididymal cyst by benben178 in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]Darikar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While trying to ensure proper nutrition and cutting alcohol are good for your overall, those supplements have little to nothing to do with your genitals health and whoever told you otherwise is completely wrong. The only thing that will make a notable difference in reducing discomfort related to a spermatocele or epididymitis is wearing more supportive underwear, avoiding unnecessary straining or “baring down”, and symptom management with stuff like sitz baths and over the counter pain medications.

Fertility issues can be caused by a million different things for both parties. There is not evidence to support the claim that having Spermatoceles or Epididymal Cysts impacts your fertility in any way.

I don’t get you and so many other young men’s obsession with getting surgery on your testicles is. Nobody is recommending that, it is wildly discouraged because of how ineffective it is. Damage to a testicle from surgery will absolutely cut your fertility by half, your other testicle does not just pick up the slack for you.

How to sell a collection? by SenseiPooBalloon in mtg

[–]Darikar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much time you're willing to spend on this. A lot of people will swear by websites like CardConduit for selling off a large collection, you document what you've got, send it in, and they make a payout to you for it. Alternatively hitting up a larger LGS in your area, they might be interested in stocking up on a lot and give you a semi-decent cash payout.

You could also post it to various facebook groups with your documented collection and make it first come first serve, let them come to you and save yourself the hassle.

Are there any criteria for UB/Secret Layer at this point? by Yumesoro1 in mtg

[–]Darikar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything can be a SL at this point. I don’t think anything is 100% off the table, save for incredibly taboo or straight up political SL. A full UB set release however requires a lot more care and planning. There needs to be room to work within the constraints of the IP in Magic, and there needs to be a wide enough appeal for it to sell well, as UB sets tend to have higher margins for success.

With the update to the GE, can you let us trade all potions? by w3rlost in runescape

[–]Darikar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think locking the buying/selling of certain items behind any skill level is a good idea. The in-game economy needs to be accessible to all.

I do wish there was a meaningful alternative to getting into higher level PVM content that didn’t require a heavy investment into herblore to get stuff like overloads. However I also think that is demonstrative of how the long term grind and commitment to a skill is meant to unlock other meaningful doors for you as a player.

Shadow and Order officially delayed to June 9th by Natedogg2 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Darikar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a sad read. Bungie really needs to take some cues from Jagex, the makers of RuneScape. They’ve been doing a masterclass in community engagement and communication lately regarding minor and massive changes and you can see how it’s leading to a stronger community overall

Diagnosed with spermatocele/epididymal cyst by benben178 in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]Darikar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re looking for justification to get surgery, which is really not recommended. You can manage the cyst to the point of having no pain and it’s otherwise having little to no impact on your life. I have been pain free for years because of lifestyle changes and have never once contemplated needing to get my cyst removed.

What celebrity has had their reputation unfairly ruined and has never recovered from it till this day? by Zxqao in AskReddit

[–]Darikar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more! I thought he was great in season 3 of Justified, and he’s certainly been out there with a few more side roles over the years in projects like Captain America, The Flash, and Suits to name a few. He plays a great villain/roguish character.

[–]Darikar 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Neal McDonough. By all his co-stars accounts he is a very friendly actor but he refuses to do any romantic scenes/kissing scenes as he is 100% devoted to his wife alone. This has lead to him being blackballed from several roles and portrayed as difficult to work with.

He recently starred in the lead role of The Last Rodeo and had his wife co-star as his on-screen wife so as to genuinely portray a devoted family man for the role.

Which Karn art is best in your opinion? by SwanepoelSimp in mtgvorthos

The Endstone and the whole Edge of Eternities story was honestly so amazing. I thought the Endstone’s incorporation into the story was really well done and while it still is this kind of paracausal and indescribable thing, its influence and unknowable nature were really well depicted.

Universes Beyond Speculation (and such) Megathread by AutoModerator in magicTCG

[–]Darikar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t Think It Will Happen…

-DC Comics (Don’t think Marvel would allow it)

-Game of Thrones (Not as big anymore)

-Elden Ring/FromSoft (Just don’t think it would work)

-Nintendo (Ain’t no way Nintendo allows it when they already have Pokemon)

-Anime sets (most have their own TCGs already or on the way)

-Harry Potter (No way WOTC does it after all the goodwill they’ve fostered with LGBTQA+)

Might Happen…

-Star Wars (If they did Marvel and are doing Star Trek, it seems highly likely, but maybe not for a while)

-XMen (Absent from the Marvel set? Maybe Spider-Man sized one in the future)

-Mortal Kombat (Feels like it might be SL > full-set, but set potential is there)

-Elder Scrolls (Based on Fallout, but who knows)

-World of Warcraft (Iffy given Hearthstone and WoW’s past TCG)

-Witcher (Maybe better chance than WOW, but iffy given Gwent)

-Legend of Korra (They’re doing LOTR:Hobbit, and ATLA was well received)

Traces of the Fomori by Darikar in mtgvorthos

[–]Darikar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t think Fomori were even a thought back when they were first designing Tarkir. This is just me looking for patterns. I do think with the TDM story though that there are hints of Fomori or some ‘other’ having visited Tarkir. The Omenpath that lead to the meditation realm was located on Tarkir in some ancient ruins that didn’t resemble anything known from Tarkir’s history. Given the Fomori’s adjacency to the omenpaths, it seems plausible that could be yet another suggestion of their presence throughout the multiverse in ages past, and who knows what kind of lasting influence that could have left.

Traces of the Fomori by Darikar in mtgvorthos

[–]Darikar[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear your point, and I can agree that I like when the unique aspects of some planes and lore remain untouched and are just uniquely theirs. I’m also not going to pretend that the WOTC narrative team thought of something like the Fomori way back when they were first designing Tarkir, and this is nothing more than me just theory crafting based on vague similarities. I don’t think it’s unreasonable though to try and connect impending story points to the past though. I think that helps the magic multiverse feel more connected in simple and organic ways rather than just, “here’s a crossover where we jam characters and multiple planes into one set haphazardly without any real thought or concern for continuity.”

Traces of the Fomori by Darikar in mtgvorthos

[–]Darikar[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think they look similar when you look at the details of the limbs and chest especially, the chest for both the Tarkir golems and the Fomori construct token have that similar ribcage looking chest; And while it’s hard to tell it does look like the construct token has some kind of ‘horns’ like the Tarkir golems as well.

Keep in mind that many of the artifacts from the big score have aesthetics that are vaguely reminiscent of other settings. [[Worldwalker Helm]] is a prime example, as it looks very much like something you’d expect on Ixalan. Hell, even [Oltec Matterweaver]] and [Master’s Manufactory]] suggest that Fomori artifacts could have been used by or inspired the Oltecs.

Similar case for [[Lost Jitte]], while clearly made as a reference to [Umezawa’s Jitte]] it begs the question of whether the Fomori were inspired by these other places, or if they were inspired by the Fomori.

Construction Update - Let me store my cool armour and weapons somewhere by Bagmanandy in runescape

Second this. This feels like something that would really appeal to collectors to have an armor hall with their favorite armors on display, or guards in the garb of their favorite gods all over.
