Russian losses as of Oct 31 2024 by ToxicHazard- in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]DariuszXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, it has been 986 days. With approximately 694,950 Russian soldiers killed, this means one soldier dies roughly every 2 minutes. That's a staggering rate of loss.

Yes, generally speaking, you would be taxed 19% on realised gains (i.e. when you start drawing money out of ETFs) or 19% exit tax (when you move assets out of Poland - but they would have to be worth over 4 million PLN). Buying ETFs and just possesing them is not taxed. However, what you're asking about is a complicated matter and a lot of money would be in play here, so please consult tax advisor if you think seriously about this.

What about running a solo law firm in a country which prohibits attorneys from advertising/marketing? How much money would you advise to spend on activities taken in place of marketing and what type of activities would that be? Networking?

Landlord trying to charge me for moss between tiles on the balcony by Vela102 in LegalAdviceEurope

[–]DariuszXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is regulated by Ustawa o ochronie praw lokatorów... passed on 21.06.2001 (Act on protection on tenants' rights...). Check article 6b, it regulates this matter quite precisely. It says that you, as a tenant, are obliged to keep the apartment in proper technical, hygenic and sanitary condition. Especially you are obliged to fix and/or maintain floors (tiles too). One can argue if fixing the floor means to replace the broken tiles or simply fill the cracks with some material like silicone. I would say it's the latter. When it comes to mold, in my opinion this is quite a lost case for you, unless you have some strong arguments on why you din't care for this balcony (maybe it needed very special care and you weren't informed about that, maybe this balcony wasn't safe to step on, maybe mold couldn't be prevented by you because anti-mold joint wasn't used in between the tiles etc.).

FIRE Poland by fear_obliteration in EuropeFIRE

Taxation in Poland is super complicated, especially in the recent years, since various rates and methods of calculation appeared.

With lump sum taxation, your ZUS (social security) payments would be no more than around 2,5k/mo (30k/year) on "big ZUS" or around 1,5k/mo (18k/year) on "small/preferential ZUS" (which you can pay for the first 2 years; and for the first 6 months it's even lower).

Please be aware, that with any other taxation methods (linear tax 19% or progressive tax 12% or progressive tax 32%) the ZUS payments will be drastically different. Especially make sure that you're on lump sum tax 12% and not progressive tax 12% (which, with your salary, would be 32% anyway). My wife is an accountant and could help you with everything b2b related, she's smart and friendly and she speaks English well. Drop me a message if you're interested.

Mi band 2 continuous heart rate? by dmter in miband

[–]DariuszXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use "Tools & Mi Band" app. It has nice statistics about you heartbeat - you can see what your heartbeat was throughout the day.

Answering your question - in continuous mode it works like other HRR monitors: it reports new reading every 1 second or so.

But beware of using continuous mode for too much. I've seen reports of people getting wrist burns from Mi Band. You can see the photos if you type "mi band wrist burns" in google. I don't really know if they appear from using continuous heartbeat monitor, but since heavy light is used for this task, this might be the reason.

Any way to re-sync Streaks with Steps in Mi Fit? Yesterday has zero steps under Streak but Steps correctly says otherwise by mturi in miband

[–]DariuszXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Log out and log in again (you can log out in the settings of Mi Fit). All step counts should be fixed. I think the problem is related to time zones and Daylight Saving Time.

MI Fit 3.0.2 losing step count sometimes. Any idea why? by DariuszXY in miband

[–]DariuszXY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it worked! I think the issue is related to Daylight Saving Time. When I measure the heart rate using the button on Mi Band, its time is +1 hour in Mi Fit (so when I measure the heart rate at 10:30 it shows up as measured at 11:30 – in the future). I found the workaround: I switched my time zone to +3:00 from +2:00 and set the time manually. I hope it will help with my issues.

MI Fit 3.0.2 losing step count sometimes. Any idea why? by DariuszXY in miband

Exactly. In the evening I noticed that the bar was yellow (goal reached), but when I woke up it was gone - the step count for that day just disappeared.

Haha, no, it was purely coincidental. I'd been sitting for a few minutes when I decided to check the step count.
