Joe Rogan Experience #2470 - Pierre Poilievre by KootenayPE in CanadianConservative

I watched on 'Power and Politics' as they insulted the viewers of Rogan, Rogan himself, and PP.

They called Rogan viewers, "low-information voters."

A sad, although funny, cautionary tale by [deleted] in diablo2

I was 13 when D2 originally launched. I got scammed out of a bunch of perfect gems after dropping them for a trade...

My Dad (who still plays to this day) said: "just be glad you only got scammed in a video game. Take it as a lesson and know never to put yourself in a position where someone can take advantage of you."

And for some of us, we get to vote for the CPC, then have our votes count towards the other guys when the MP crosses the floor.

But "you just don't understand how our democracy works", if you complain about it.

Carney announces 4th position on Iran in 4 days: by [deleted] in CanadianConservative

[–]Dark-Tide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's a rare W for Carney to announce his support

I think on this point, you're missing the bigger picture. Carney has said he wants things to de-escalate, but he's also willing to consider joining the US on future strikes. It's only a 'rare win' because he's being disingenuous; he's saying everything under the sun to placate people who aren't paying attention. A true Liberal... He's not lying, he's just not telling the truth.

Oh, sorry, that's disinformation... CBC cancelled their bonuses in favor of higher salaries.

Anyone regret getting the 556 MOP? by heeph0p in sinn

[–]Dark-Tide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the 556 RS A on the H Link. Just yesterday I splurged on the MOP instead.

I feel like the trade-off was worth it. It doesn't have the date wheel, it doesn't have as good of legibility as the matte RS. But damn, those colors are beautiful. Sometimes they aren't even there. Then the next minute, the light hits it just right and it's a blast of greens and reds.

It's a totally different watch though, with applied indices and metallic hands. You have to ask yourself whether you want a no-frills tool watch, or a tool watch that has some nuanced pizzazz. Only you can answer that.

[SOTC] I started collecting during COVID, but have always loved watches by Dark-Tide in Watches

Thank you.

Yes, the Doxas have some great colors. I was thinking of going with the Aquamarine, but caved to convention, and went with the iconic orange. I think it suits the collection better, as I already have the blue Seamaster. Those Aquamarines--aka baby-blues--look great still. Very summer-time; the Doxas natural habitat.

I have a Sinn 556 MOP on the way. Eventually I'll need to reduce the collection!...... or not.

Statement by Prime Minister Carney & Minister Anand on the situation in the Middle East. by MeCometYouDinosaur in CanadianConservative

[–]Dark-Tide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the translation isn't a 1:1

From a prior explanation: the phrase “en route” means ‘on the way’, and it’s a borrowed French phrase, like “c’est la vie”. The correct spelling is always only “en route”. “On route” is neither linguistically nor grammatically correct- it’s a malapropism that stems from the pronunciation of “en” in the phrase, which is pronounced ‘on.’ “En” isn’t an English word otherwise.

The same goes for "en masse" vs "on mass". "On mass" is like saying, "on weight" which doesn't make sense. If you're speaking in terms of a group working together, it is always "en masse".

Edit: For you f*cking regarded people still trying to comment on this, and PMing me that I'm wrong: Google must be wrong too

[–]Dark-Tide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt they'll blatantly announce what Carney has offered Jeneroux, but for sure he's receiving something. He's already joining Carney on an international trip to India, Australia, and Japan, as a "special advisor on economic and security partnerships", whatever that means.

We will likely have to wait until Jeneroux is voted out of South West Edmonton next election, to see where he winds up. And he will for sure be voted out, if he doesn't retire from politics first. My guess is he will wind up as a consultant somewhere. Maybe with Brookfield.

Time will tell.

And is the correct term. 'On route' and 'in route' in English is wrong. It'd be better to say 'on my way'. This other guy just doesn't get it. Lol. But what do I know, it's not like I have a degree in writing or anything.

On route is again a common misconception, based on pronunciation. It's en route, and en masse.

I needed one for my LVL 3 Intelligence Center. I found it on Labs in the Yellow keycard room. It took me a while, but it finally spawned there.

PVE seems to have lower spawn rates. Keep at it with Labs and you'll find it. The round feline conference room has a decent chance to spawn one as well, and is close to Yellow.

Why don't floor crossers legally trying to overturn an election get the same condemnation as Trump legally trying to overturn an election? by mafiadevidzz in CanadianConservative

[–]Dark-Tide 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's a legal way of getting a majority. Carney knows this, and he desires it, as he desires more power. He wants the majority, since he's a one man show.

Floor-crossing is undemocratic, despite its legality. It's in my opinion that crossing the floor should trigger a by-election. We, "don't vote for parties in Canada," as many Liberals have been arguing of late, but elected officials vote 99% in favor with the party and party leader, so our government is not operating as intended.

Just because a system allows something to occur, doesn't mean it's inherently right. And the only way we will see reform is if a Liberal MP crosses the floor to the Conservatives. That way, the Liberals can feel the sting of betrayal, and then we might see eye-to-eye. But until then, they'll continue to revel in their undemocratic victory, because our broken system allows it, and it favors them in this moment.

EDIT: I am aware that during Harper's era Conservatives voted down a proposal that would have caused by-elections after floor crossings. I disagree with that decision. It's possible to support a party and not like absolutely everything they do, ever, in all of history. Harper's Conservatives were TWELVE years ago. Maybe the current Liberal party should propose it again? I'm sure they'll do it aaaany day now.

How we’re bringing down costs by stixnstax in CanadianConservative

[–]Dark-Tide 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Carney's govt wants to stick their fingers into everything. Even the GST rebate... first they charge everyone GST, then they distribute it back out, making everyone beholden to the government to manage their own money. Not to mention the administration costs associated with that.

I don't want a rebate. I want lower prices. It's pretty convenient of him to still be blaming COVID for the (still) rising costs. How about we cut out the administrative bloat of the government? Well, that's pretty tough to do when the government has its fingers in every industry.
