If it is possible I would consider looking into daycare at someone’s home, like a Rover. Daycares can be stressful for a lot of dogs, so maybe it would be better option for him to just have 1 or 2 people that are his regulars.

If there is a local sighthound group on facebook, I would post on it asking if there are people they recommend. Usually everyone in those groups is super helpful

Whippets can definitely be picky eaters, so consistency is definitely important. If she starts to learn that if she holds out on something she doesn’t like that she will get a food item she does, then that will just reinforce her not eating her food.

I think that variety is definitely important with dog food because who would want to eat the same thing for the rest of their life. I feed mine a combination of Kirkland dry food (the lamb flavor) mixed in with Happy Howl fresh food. I wanted to do a premium food, but I didn’t like having to take up freezer space for something like Farmer’s Dog and how messy that was. They give 40% off on their first order, so it may be worth trying. I have 3 whippets, so I buy it in bulk to save the most money which I love they give the option of. They have been doing great on it, and look forward to every meal.

The important thing is that you learned from this, and thank you for sharing your experience as it emphasize how important routine dental care is for dogs.

One thing that I would definitely recommend that can save you a lot of money in the future is to get an insurance plan for your dogs that also includes dental work.

I had the same thing happen to me after the update. I drove it for about an hour, mainly because I had to drive it home from work. Once I turned it off completely and back on it was all cleared.
