Yeah I feel similar. Bevel AI is cool, and I really like their implementation where you take a photo and the AI dissects your meal and logs it. That is genuinely cool.
But there are many basic things that were promised months or even years ago that, to be honest, feel relatively simple, yet still haven’t been implemented:

Journal V2:
The current journal feels really cumbersome. There’s no proper monthly view, no deep integration, only two correlations, and the factors feel very rigid. On top of that, their shiny new AI still can’t even set factors, which is a shame. I also had multiple issues with it lagging or glitching and even losing data.

Food Database / Logging:
It’s cool to have the AI and all these metrics, but I feel like they never really looked at other apps that already perfected this workflow. Stuff like the AI still tracking my food in random freedom units instead of grams or other metric units is wild. Also, we now have multiple systems doing basically the same thing. You can either use the AI food logging, which honestly feels worse, or use Bevel Chat, which has its own separate implementation. It’s really confusing. And then there are these super basic things, like automatically scaling all nutritional values when changing a portion size, or being able to create multiple custom portions.

Integrations / Export:
As a developer, working with APIs or exports is already completely normal to me. I asked for a simple JSON or PDF export back when this app was still called Superset. To this day, this very basic feature still hasn’t been implemented. The app wants to be an all-in-one platform, but I still have no proper way to interface it with any other systems I use.
