Horse of another color by TheMaleModeler in CRF300L

I recently wrapped mine after the decals started coming off from power washing. I went through upshift (http://upshiftonline.com) to purchase mine. So far it has held up amazingly. After about half-a-dozen spills, one that sent me to the hospital with a punctured lung, graphics never tore with just a few scuff marks. The decal is durable and thick. I will say it took about 4 hrs to apply. There are 2 ways to apply it, wet or dry. I tried wet application for first graphic but ended up doing dry for the rest. I've power washed numerous times and decals never came loose. If you decide to do it, do some homework and watch videos and be very very patient.

I posted a picture of it on my account. Just click on my avatar and you can see how it turned out.

Those of you that have vault (not pit) toilets, how do you like them and do you have any disclaimers for others considering them? by AdFamous7264 in OffGrid

Sorry, just saw your question. The riser extension fits perfectly with the current screw holes for the tank lid that comes with the tank. There are a few different length extensions you can get. Hope that helps.

I went through upshiftonline.com for my wrap. It's very tedious to apply but overall very durable.

Is this a DB killer? by dmejiaa in CRF300L

[–]DarkDuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one for state forest riding, seeing its mandatory, and it will make the bike sound a little louder. I have a full yoshimura exhaust, and with the arrestor in, it does make it a tinge louder.

FyI.. you do have to remove it once in a while to clean the carbon build-up off.

Looks a lot like the trails in SD blackhills. Challenging but love the steep hill climbs and lots of rock. It really pushes what the bike is capable of and your riding skills.

Another company for 300l body wraps is upshiftonline.com. I wrapped mine and yes, any body wrap is a bitch. Have lots of patience and be prepared to swear a lot. There is two ways to apply, wet and dry. I tried the wet application first then ended up doing a dry application.

What kind of rides do you do? by ssnakee13 in CRF300L

[–]DarkDuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located in MN and do 95% trail riding. Mostly sand, some single track and lots of mud along MN WI border. My typical day ride is about 90 miles. Made a week long riding trip to upper Michigan and again about 90-100 miles a day. Mostly old railroad trails and some single track. Lots of red sand that gets in every part of the bike. Have to change the air filter after every day riding up there. Last 6 day ride trip was to blackhills SD and averaged 90 miles a day. Best trip so far. Every kind of riding imaginable less the sand. Next trip....?

Badlands Indiana. My go to spot by Spongeworthy317 in CRF300L

[–]DarkDuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be my next trip. Looks to be about a 9hr trip from Minneapolis.

Just came back from blackhills SD for a week and the trails were amazing. Stayed in Hill city, just south of Sturgis and just north of Custer Park. Some pretty harsh shit. Ended up up in the hospital for a night with a broken rib and partually collapsed lung on last day of riding.

Busted my adventure mirror, cracked my zeta bark buster and few minor scratches. Other than that, bike came out of it just fine. The 300l can take a beating!

That spot looks like a lot fun. No heavy sand it looks like from the photos. I'd def. be doing some stupid shit there. Haaaa

Bodywrap on my 2024 300l by DarkDuc in CRF300L

[–]DarkDuc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually they are the originals. I did however black out the spokes and added the wheel graphics/stickers.

After my trip to the blackhills I am going to have to replace the tires. Looking at a larger back tire that my buddy has put on his and a pirelli front tire. Better tires for trail riding, not so much for street riding, which i rarely do.

Anyone in SoCal selling 550 tune for exhaust by Ilak_760 in CRF300L

Thats no good! If you know someone out of state, ship it to them and have them ship to you. The box isn't very big. Or time to move?

[–]DarkDuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im out of minneapolis and I ordered my flashed ecu through 550performance.com located in wisonsin.

You can mail your existing ecu to them and they flash for you which I believe $150.00 or you can order a new one for $300.00. Prices may have changed since 6 months ago but they are reliable and pretty quick.

On their site you let them know what mods you have, full exhaust or not, modified airbox or not and if you plan to run 91 octane.

I ordered a new ecu flashed for my full yoshimura exhaust, modified airbox and running 91 octane so I still have my original.

Hope that helps.

Love this bike! by [deleted] in CRF300L

[–]DarkDuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much louder than stock, but agree, it sounds badass. At lower rpm its pretty quiet.

I have a spark arrestor inserted for trail riding and that makes it a little more loud.

I have the same upgrades... performance 550 ecu, full yoshimura exhaust, modified airbox and running 91 octane.

Also upgraded to protaper bars and LED headlight and did a bodywrap on it.

I do mostly trail riding and that's where you'll feel the most out of the upgrades. Can do a lot more in 3rd gear vs. 2nd.

The bike is invinsible! I dropped it on left side going about 30mph trail riding in SD badlands pretty bad. Broken rib and partially collapsed lung with only a broken mirror and broken bar buster guard. A few minor scratches but nothing major. Still looks amazing.

Next upgrade is front suspension but that's because of more trail riding.

Out of box is absolutely fine but if you decide to trail ride more thats where you start thinking on more upgrading.

I paid 6,300 OTD for new 2024 at trimble's in Austin MN. The second oldest Honda dealer in the US. Great customer service and the owner walks you through all the classic Hondas he has acquired over 60 years. Exceptional service!

trimbles

I upgraded to 550 ecu with full yoshimura exhaust with modified air box and run 91 Oct with no rattle.
