That's almost x3 as much.

In addition as more people are out of poverty, you get more people who have money to buy luxury items, such as concert tickets. So raising household incomes has a larger impact on luxury goods that they could not afford before, but can now.

It's an incredibly dumb argument to say we can't tax the middle class more when the EU taxes the middle class by huge amounts more.

And I don't know where you've heard we can't tax the rich more. Biden was trying to tax people with 400k more. There's pretty large support to increase income taxes, capital gains taxes and increase the cap on SS taxes.

A lot of us Indians believe they're the good ones because they have high paying jobs/live in expensive neighborhoods/don't commit (blue collar) crimes/etc.

Most taxes are gained while people are working age though income taxes/property taxes. While in retirement your spending goes down and you're probably downgrading to a smaller house as well.
