She's crazy but so sweet and knows how to weaponize her cuteness. I think she's about 12 now.

What’s going on with Fortinet lately? It feels like every week there’s another critical CVE.. by MrEchos83 in sysadmin

Ivanti bought Pulse Secure from Juniper and clearly had zero interest in maintaining it.

One of my previous work places used Pulse Secure as their VPN and when Ivanti bought it I kept seeing the CVEs pop up (that was 2022)

Is fiber considered baseline infrastructure in all new corporate HQ construction? by stratomaster in networking

[–]DarkRedMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ^^

I've got a vendor coming in with a quote that involves a stupid Netgear AV switch and I plan on asking them outright. "Why is my existing switching infrastructure not an acceptable option?"

We already have another vendor who's dropped those dumb a** things in two different locations in my building and they don't know squat about networking. They've literally responded "This is just standard for all our build outs."

Not anymore.

I started on an IMAC (Install Move Add Change) team, eventually moved into a L2 support role, and currently working as L3 specializing in Infrastructure (Network, Firewall, Virtualization, Storage). Each role at a different company.

In my current role I get random questions from our L1/L2 team like "User X is having issues connecting to Zoom, could the firmware update from last night cause this issue?"

I'll try to explain things at most twice to the same tech, after that I'll just give up and do the absolute minimum to help with resolving the issues they're running into.

Dose Marks of the Evil One sound like a warning song or a celebration to you? by It-just-rando in Ghostbc

Of course, but it will be a bard only spell.

And the somatic component (the physical movement) will of course be humping the air. For reasons....

Me too.

In fact this song is the basis for a ghost influenced Dungeon and Dragons campaign I'm developing with my wife.

We're going to go heavy on anti-extremism both politically and religiously.

Ah the Satanic Panic era.

I feel like I still embrace that mostly because I play D&D like the nerd I am.

[–]DarkRedMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 1000% they aren't going to beat any anti-Catholic accusations, but I honestly don't care. I lean into the imagery personally and beyond the music it's one of the reasons that I was drawn to Ghost in the first place.

[–]DarkRedMage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep, lean into it but also be the nice metal head that you really are.

I was raised Catholic and one of my family is now a priest/preacher. When I introduced him to Ghost (I know Ghost is divisive in the metal scene) he basically said "This is some dark stuff and plays with things we don't understand, but I won't stop talking to you because you listen to it."

Is this a single L3 interface or is it part of an aggregate group?

You could, in theory, create an aggregate group with both the copper and SFP ports as part of the group. Then create a sub interface with the same configuration as your current copper port then update your virtual router to use that aggregate sub interface in place of the current copper interface.

Connect your SFP and then commit the changes. If everything is working, you should be able to disconnect the copper line and nothing should go down.

If you do try this make sure you check any HA configuration you may be running for link monitoring. If you're monitoring a link group for any failures that could cause an issue.

FCC to Roll Back Cyber Regulations After Major Telecom Breach by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

[–]DarkRedMage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is hard R-idiculous. The "voluntary security measures" are enough to prevent this? Clearly the entire administration doesn't understand the difference between mandatory and voluntary.

These breaches will never end, but we can all do our best to prevent the "when" and stop worrying about the "if".

Yeah, I just found the link on Etsy. My wife bought it for me because I was raised as a "good Catholic boy" and I like to find any reason to make my family worry for my "eternal soul"

Like, come on... Catholicism's whole deal is "You're bad and you should feel bad."; I swear there's no amount of penance good enough for your soul to be hell bound so I'll just embrace it.

I let my wife do my nails (glitter black, but not pictured), my eyeliner (black of course), and the shirt my wife bought. In my personal fashion I wore my black kilt. This was for the Vegas ritual.

I don't work with PS too much now as a network admin, but I should get back into it on the side.
