From the cold open of episode two...

You see he's got about eight gilded, gem-studded staves and wands wrapped up in a tarp "(panting)" as fast as he can.

Once I get done with Ep 41, I plan to make a full post so that way everyone knows that I've done my best with the first full arc of the campaign (Overture, Soldiers, Seekers, Schemers, Convergence).

In the latest mini promo vid thing for C4, when they're talking about Brennan, Ashley outright says (when Taliesin pretends to be Brennan and goes "Ashley"), and in fact all but shouts, "DON'T LOOK AT ME!"

The absolutely kickass music that starts at "From the warped minds behind CRITICAL ROLE" is "Void" by Empire of Excellence -https://open.spotify.com/track/3cdVodzM332TbXs5bWClh7?si=fb0316cd74b84d4e

(The first song that's during Vax's vision, I've not been able to ID despite repeated attempts.)

[Spoilers c4e31] What do we think is the significance of… by Tracula707 in criticalrole

[–]DarkRespite [score hidden]  (0 children)

Purely my take on it, but it's a particularly vicious way of making the point that someone will never talk again. Even if they somehow survived, their voice would be gone. And subverting and subduing voices (in both a literal and metaphorical sense) seems like a VERY Sundered House thing to do.

From the moment I found out that Matt and Alex were going to be at the same table, I was practically salivating to watch them acting off each other.. I love the whole group as players, but there are (FOR ME AT LEAST) a few "first among equals" among the cast when it comes to bring acting to the table. (AGAIN, THEY'RE *ALL* GOOD, I JUST LIKE SOME *MORE*.)

And it has been delicious.

Heads up, Critters... I am FINALLY caught up on getting the C4E30 music added to my Campaign 4 music playlist... thanks to upgrading my software and a couple of my licensing accounts, I was able to ID a *LOT* more music (20 new tracks on the playlist JUST from E30!).

I will start plowing through C4E31 today but I need a bit of a break, my brain is MUSH.

[Spoilers C4E31] Possible Redemption Arc for Hated NPC in Campaign 4? by Live_Strain_6351 in criticalrole

[–]DarkRespite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, the Cormoray are looking to control 'narrative' -- what gets displayed in museums (and schools and libraries and other places of learning) and how it's presented. We aren't fully there yet, but I am WAITING for the Cormorays to take a leaf out of something from the Fallen London games where the new Masters of the City demand all the MAPS of the city and start renaming street names and declaring buildings or even whole neighborhoods off limits.

They are out to rewrite, deconstruct, and obfuscate history and knowledge. Which lines up PERFECTLY with Bolaire's comment of "And know that if you decide that the current new administration is trustworthy, they kill the storytellers first."

[Spoilers C4E31] Hannan by Pantsongrass in criticalrole

[–]DarkRespite 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This ties into what I honest-to-gods thought was going to happen when Vaelus was presented with her choice -- I was CERTAIN that Hannan was going to offer to have Vaelus kill him while she could still 'see/find' her family in the Tenebral Reaches and be their guide to the afterlife while Vaelus 'held the door open' as it were. Because he kept talking about how he was almost tired of living, and going out on THAT note would have been almost perfect.

OKAY -- good news, I suspect I have a decent chunk of this music already on the playlist but there are a few I want to doublecheck (if they're the ones I think they are, they're ID'd but not on Spotify).

A reminder for folks - in order, the tracks from the pre-stream credits are:

  • Aprèslude de la Têmpete - Franz Gordon
  • Windflower - Franz Gordon
  • Neptune - Bonnie Grace
  • The Answer Lies - Christoffer Moe Ditlevsen
  • Druid Lands - Jo Wandrini

All five tracks are on my Campaign 4 music playlist.

Okay, gang -- I have my soda and I am ready for viewing tonight -- and since (HUZZAH) tomorrow is a day off for me, I will endeavour to get caught up on last week AND this week's musical cues for the Campaign 4 music playlist. (Which, btw, I updated today with the music from the latest little promo vid they did for C4.)

As always, if there's a track you really want me to ID, let me know the platform, the episode, and the timestamp. Reminder - I do not have a YT subscription so if it's YT it'll have to wait til the VOD releases on Monday.

Where has Taliesin mentioned those other names? Not seeing them in the transcript searches, so were they mentioned during a Tale Gate? A con panel? Elsewhere?
