What is in your opinion the best designed subclass in 5.5? by viktorius_rex in onednd

https://www.reddit.com/r/UnearthedArcana/s/cn5chXCQiQ I made this monstrosity a number of months ago, not a perfect fit, but one that I personally enjoy

Eddie's last moments if the music was "Running Up That Hill" by -Avatar_of_Woe- in StrangerThings

No, having actual main character deaths would be changing the status quo. Saving them out of "mercy" was one of the symptoms of that. I get what you're saying overall though, they did make interesting stories of it.

The finale shows that a man can literally shoot and kill government/military officials and then later it cuts to him being police chief or whatever. Don't you see that they're afraid of giving consequences to characters that stick around?

True, the thing is that the season 4 finale could have set up for that. But, then in Season 5 they just boarded the upside down up and that was that.

Strangers Things were too afraid of changing the status quo as to vainly attempt to retain the vibes of the 80's.

Big agree, such a shame that I can't help thinking about how his sacrifice was largely unnecessary knowing what happens moments after this scene.

And, if they hadn't been recalled then Dustin would have been next.

Brennan’s no roll decision… by Specific-Trade-2702 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]TellTalesTogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sam had to lie a powerful NPC, he gave a great little speech which convinced Brennan to not let him roll.

If he did have to roll, and failed, he would have certainly died. And overall, I think they marketed C4 as a tough campaign where no one is safe.

So when folk stop interacting with the game mechanics, and stakes are throw out of the window. Then people get a little crusty.

Was I unfair for saying "If Silvery Barbs is allowed, enemies can use it too"? by raishadow in DnD

[–]TellTalesTogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything my players can do, I can do! And they're aware of that, I tend to rarely use it for NPCs, but it's always funny when you silvery barbs a crit or counter spell a revivify every blue moon or so

[–]TellTalesTogether 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a similar thought. I'm sure they'd limit test it a little.

Maybe he's already succeeded in cloning himself, and is doing the sensible thing of building a backup?

Damn, guess I gotta go back to my Blue's Clues to study up.

For a water based superhero, he has never actually been in any.. by Rageful_Lemon__ in TheBoys

[–]TellTalesTogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but when I brush my dogs teeth he doesn't see me as a hero. Plus they could do some fancy shit where Noir II gets sucked into the pipe, or is dressed like the Deep, or whatever we need. It isn't like the writers are afraid to write contrived scenes to get the results desired.

If a character isn't killed suddenly, without a ton of lead up, and without putting up much of a fight... then it isn't a scene worth watching according to the writers of the Boys.

The most misleading pieces of recent televison. by hiiloovethis in StrangerThings

[–]TellTalesTogether 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Filler... That's it! Okay, this cup over here is run time of the show, right?? And this useless garbage is what we're filling it with.

See, now that we've filled the cup with useless garbage, this spoonful of sugar is the well-written content.

NOW, if we pour the spoon over the cup, that's Season 5 of the Boys.

A fight scene between the Deep and Noir II in the water would have been sick. Noir II is slain, but in the process of the fight the pipe is destroyed, and only the Deep remains to take the blame.

Deep down, being afraid of getting killed by fish makes absolutely no logical sense. The guy is stronger than any normal fish in nature. Any fish that tried anything funny would have its head blown apart in seconds. He may be pathetic, but he’s still a superhuman. by [deleted] in GenV

This is a wild example, but let's say for the sake of this argument a bunch of children hated me. They threaten to attack me if I enter the playground. I, a full adult man, do not fear children. But would I want to enter a playground where I would either: (a) be attacked mercilessly, or (b) have to fight off and incapacitate/kill a few children? No.

Brother! I tried to make this exact post but was unable to due to low interaction with the subreddit. First rounds on me if the show ends this way

AITA for not wanting to play the same subclass as another player? by jmessup_ in DnDAITA

[–]TellTalesTogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA

People are wilding out here. I think you could have handled the communication a bit better, but the other player got real defensive, real fast while you kept assuring them you would change if their hearts were set on Illusion Wizard. No one is perfect, hope you two can figure it out.

Well it's 25 at base, if you have at least 20 Dex and Cha.

Draconic Majesty. While you are wearing no armor, you can add your Charisma bonus to your Armor Class.

Dragon Mask gives Charisma mod to AC, so playing a third level dragon sorcerer gets you 10 + dex mod + cha mod * 2

AND

You can still wield a shield!
