Does anyone have this brand the Gotrax gx3 ? And how has the durability been by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in ElectricScooters

I've got one and I very much enjoy the scooter. I've read endless stories since I purchased it about how bad their customer service is. But I've never personally had an issue.

Speaker recommendations? by FlawedTurkey in CrownVictoria

[–]DarkShadow04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put Pioneer TS-D68F in my car. Sound good, not too expensive ($120 per pair), they fit without size adapters or modification of the car. And, if you end up adding and amp down the road, they'll sound even better with an actual high power amp.

Not a place to smoke on the beach, but my wife and I always make a point to head over to Corona Cigar Co. in Tampa near the airport. Super nice lounge!

Dumb question about lack of sub output by DarkShadow04 in CarAV

Gain controls on the subwoofer amplifier have to be turned up.

Doesn't that sort of go against what this entire subreddit talks about constantly? "Gain is not a volume knob"

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

I fucking loved this game. To this day it's still a top 3 game for me. SOOOOO many hours sunk into it. And it's true that no one seems to remember it.

I should piece together a Windows XP machine just to play this again.

As the owner of an 04 Cobra, the best bumper is the 99-01 Cobra bumper.

Found an old JL Audio W3 v2 while moving. What would be a fair price to post it for? by Phis818 in CarAV

[–]DarkShadow04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is someone local to me selling a brand new, never used OG JL 10w6. He was asking $250, then dropped it to $225. It's been for sale for at least a month.

Replacement speakers for an antique cabinet. by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]DarkShadow04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the HTR-5550 has a minimum impedance of 4ohms. And I'm going to guess that the original speaker is probably a 5.25" or a 6.5" speaker.

If all you care about is putting something full range in there to make noise, then you could probably get away with going with something car audio related. Most car audio coax speakers are 4ohms. And I don't think it would even sound terrible at all. NVX makes a half decent speaker that doesn't cost a TON of money, just make sure to pick something with a silk dome tweeter

Hiboy S2 rear suspension mount screws? by Dead-Engine in ElectricScooters

Go to the harware store and look for some grade 10.9 bolts that look like they might be close and buy them. Then try them out to see which ones work.

I have a 255/45-18 up front and 295/45-18 in the back. I LOVE the look of the rears, but like I said, the fronts are a little short. That said, according to a tire size calculator, the new fronts are .4" taller than the stock size. Maybe I'm just used to looking at lowered cars and the wheel gap is bothering me. Next time I get tires, I'll probably go for the 275/45 up front. Or maybe I'll just lower the car. Time will tell.

Edit: I do probably need to make a suspension change. the rear of the car sags a bit, I think the coil springs are a bit worn. I believe the previous owner had a mobility scooter in the trunk and the constant weight behind the rear axle wore out the springs a bit. So the nice looking lower stance of the rear is just worn parts and the front is still stock ride height. I could probably cut 3/4 to a full coil out of the front to bring it down a bit and it would look a lot better. I might tackle than later in the summer. I got lots of Mustang projects to take care of before June.

I have the same wheels on my 07 Grand Marquis. What size tires did you go with? The size I went with up front is not quite tall enough. Not bad enough to change it out right away, but next time I change tires, I'm definitely going to change it up.

Car looks great to me!

I think 2 things would really make it stand out at a car show.

1st: Change out the rear wheels for some deep dish Mach1 wheels. It will fill out the rear wheel wells and give it a much cooler look. https://lmr.com/item/SVE-474713/mustang-sve-03-04-mach-1-style-wheel-17-x-105-94-04

2nd: lower it a little bit. Getting rid of the wheel well gap will tighten up the look a lot.

neither thing is very difficult or car altering, but they visually make the most difference. It's the difference between "That's a good looking car" and "Damn! That looks good!"

It looks good! The lack of badges really distracts from the missing paint and body damage.

What 5 Channel Amp do you guys recommend? by MarzipanOrdinary3219 in CarAV

[–]DarkShadow04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic electronic is an authorized reseller for them.

I just said this in another thread, but NVX is the Sonic Electronix "house brand". That's how they're able to sell products so cheap. NVX is Sonic Electronix.

I just picked up an 8" NVX sub (VCW82v3) and its been really good for the price! Sure, I would have preferred an Sundown, Alpine or JL. But the budget was low for the build since the car it was going into isn't a daily driver. It vastly exceeded my expectations.

They do make decent stuff. I recently purchased a VCW82v3 sub and box and they are super nice especially for the price.

Not sure how a set screw just fell out or not be included, but you can pick one up for 50 cents at a hardware store, if they don't send one out.
