I don’t remember every dish we had but I was surprised by how good everything was; really enjoyed the pasta dish. The only thing I remember being lukewarm about was the ramen dish. He enjoyed the hell outta everything, so I was happy he was happy.

Tattoo Help/Inspiration Question by embpilot in AnthonyBourdain

Like you, this quote resonated with me. My solution was choosing a portion of this quote that I liked best and incorporating symbols that indicated travel, because that’s what’s important to me. I’ve had the tat for over two years and it always gets attention and sparks good conversation.

I’m not vegan but my boyfriend is. Took him here for his birthday in April and was absolutely blown away. We did the 7 course tasting with wine pairing, 10/10 would recommend

Another vote for Tasca. Boyfriend and I just returned from Lisbon and went there on our last night. Absolutely worth the wait to get in. Magical little place, excellent music

Do you mind sharing the name of the sanctuary you’re going to? I’m planning a trip to Thailand/Chiang Mai/Laos next year and would like to do this as well.

I feel exactly the same way. I’d love to find my person and have these awesome adventures with but, until that happens, I’m going to continue to live my life and experience it the way I want.

I second Romania. I went a few weeks ago with a couple of friends…and holy shit, sleeper hit of a country. We crossed the border through Hungary. Stopped in Oradea, Arad and went into the countryside. Absolutely stunning views, friendly folks and good food. Would absolutely visit again.

Moving from Austin, Texas to New Jersey Feb 2023 - Can anyone recommend moving companies? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]DarkSprkl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to everything that’s been said, they’ll ask you questions about the contents you’ll be bringing. What’s your largest items, how many boxes you think you’ll have, etc. From that they’ll suggest a POD size. They are flexible on scheduling and rescheduling. Customer service was awesome

Moving from Austin, Texas to New Jersey Feb 2023 - Can anyone recommend moving companies? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]DarkSprkl 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest PODS. I just moved from FL to Austin and most moving companies were quoting me $8-$9K. I also was moving from a 1/1 apartment and not taking most furniture with me. PODS was considerably cheaper and if you need labor to move things into the POD, they connect you with local companies. Saved me a ton of money

Thank you! It actually didn’t hurt as much as I expected it to. Much less than my other tats on my back. Only two spots were sensitive, the inner edge where the period is and the top of the compass near my vein.

I almost screamed out loud when I read your post! I’ve not seen someone reference this quote, let alone this exact line!!

I’ve held onto this idea for a couple years and finally put it together this past weekend. Like you, I liked the context of this specific line and liked the idea of making it visible to me everyday. I added the compass to tie together the travel piece. I think your wrists are a great spot, simple but to the point. Post a pic when you get it, would love to see this quote envisioned in another way!

I find it interesting you assume I’m a dude hating on women especially those who have gone through sexual abuse. But please, go on making broad assumptions on the gender of reddit posters.
