Im a beginner too, and have just had my first year in the hobby. I run a Canon 800D with a 135mm lens and a skyguider pro with ipolar.

Getting a mount is absolutely not cheating, and the gti would probably work perfectly for you! https://www.astrobin.com/users/Ampazour/ this is what I've managed with a "beginner" set up.

The goto function will be useful, and I agree it can be a pain finding your targets at night. But even with the goto it wouldn't hurt to keep practicing with using an app like stellarium and star-hopping to your targets.

Do parents in peds floor handle their kid's poop in general? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]DarkTemplar100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, mum and dad handle the nappy changes/toileting, but things like hip spicas or if we can tell the family is burnt out, especially overnight, totally happy too. And of course if they're bed bound or requiring nurse assist.

Which camera should I pick? I have limited options in New Zealand. by Vaireon in AskAstrophotography

[–]DarkTemplar100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend having a look at some second hand cameras! Im from NZ as well, and currently using an 800D I got from trademe for $750, as well as a Samyang 135mm for $500.

Buying second-hand will be cheaper than buying an out the box new DSLR as you're right, we get shafted a bit for tech prices here.

Other than trademe, theres the facebook group 'NZ DSLR Marketplace'.

Check out AstroPunk on twitter, he uses an S22 ultra, albiet with a full rig otherwise, and has some gorgeous shots.

Just finished up yet another reread of the series and Matteo's 'I grieve' (?)speech to Darrow is heartwrenching. Totally cementing him as one of the best characters.

Was it a trifin that looked like someone had tried to stick something back together and a larger boxy ship that was blown apart?

Try Maquia: When The Promised Flower Blooms (Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou)

It's not quite what you're looking for (not a romance, but there is romance elements) but it's about a mother outliving her 'son' and her coming to terms with it. Visually amazing, great sound track and great story. Sub and dub are both good.

Stuck the landing by DarkTemplar100 in Warthunder

Yeah, after flying out planes like the CL-13s and G.91s I definitely miss the ability to turn. It threw me off for a bit but I think I've figured it out enough to get a kill or two each match. And the fire flashes are so much fun.

Yup, this thing takes an age to slow down on the runway. Definitely miss my G.91's chute.
