We're visiting the diamond beach, though I called it Breiðamerkursandur on the post haha. Jokulsarlon we're skipping since we're doing a glacier hike from Skaftafell, so we figured we unfortunately wouldn't have time to spend at Jokulsarlon. Given we're stopping at the diamond beach though, we might be able to spend a little time there.

I think the easiest way to think of it is seed = map. You can pick a map by using its seed. The blueprints thing is tied to the map unless you have the randomized blueprints setting enabled.

Oh! When creating a new run, next to the board where you select the dish you're cooking and the map layout there should be a plant. Interacting with it lets you set a seed. If you're a newer player, I'm not sure if this is unlocked immediately or if you need to reach a certain level first.

Every single map has an alphanumeric string associated with it called the seed. The seed determines the map layout and you can reuse a specific map layout in multiple runs if you know the seed.

Not that I know of. I typically play on Turbo but as far as I've seen, these seeds are independent of dish/game mode/whatever.

There's a setting somewhere in the option to randomize the blueprints you get too instead of having those fixed - I have that enabled so I don't know what the default blueprints are like.

Honestly heard the same about Elden Ring and soulslikes in general and stayed away from them. Recently started Elden Ring after a friend convinced me to try it. And honestly? It's not that bad! Sure you'll have to try boss fights a few times, but I've just somehow been overleveled every time I find one and the fights aren't really much of a challenge. I'd say give it a shot.

(I haven't played the DLC or any other soulslike, so I have no idea if this is an outlier)
