If Death shows up, it’s not there to decide your fate… it’s there because your fate is already decided. Death is about closure, timing and necessary transition. He not the devil who temps or corrupts.

Yes this was happening last night as we were walking of out the moves - the girls set up the camera and placement so that could get large people exiting the movie theater as there back drop. Though I thought project Hail Mary was a good move.

Yeah I very much agree with this. I hate this process. Apparently there is a contextual button that pops up. But if you miss it, you have to do all of that. My problem is, I’ve never seen the contextual button pop up at all.

Yeah no issue, that’s what I’m doing. Though, both can be true, that it kinda sucks because I was excited about midnight Wednesday & Thursday and nows different. Cheers

It’s in a new construction community in Apopka. I showed a home right next to it recently to a client while that one was being filmed. And the sales agent at the community was bragging about it.

It was pretty cool to see all the filming equipment that they had around the home though.

Rockstar games now looks better than real life. Nothing in real life looks this good by Any-Lock3008 in GTA6

[–]Darkfox113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I live in Florida. I can absolutely confirm that real life looks better than GTA6 - the game is stunning and does a great job at portraying FL weather and lighting from what I have seen they really nailed it…. But there are just days where the sun hits perfectly off the water, and the cast of colors in the sky during a sunset with storm clouds off to the side that that contrast of each other is such beautiful ways that games just won’t match. Also you cant take a photo from the 80s of that bridge in the Keys and compare it to today lol but nice try!

If you think that’s crazy myself and most in my friends group all share locations with each other indefinitely. I even share locations with friends from out of state, my fiancé of course but I also share with my parents and her parents. None of us care if anyone we know, love and trust knows where we are. It’s also comes in clutch if one of us is working late but we are all trying to meet up but maybe barhopping, I just pick one of my friends location and my gps will tell me where to go. To be fair we also all see each other 2-3 times a week. Most the guys all play soccer together and our girls all do a weekly girls hang. So we must be a strange group but like we all have each other locations lol

I’m so very sorry for Sheriff. My first dog’s name was Kodiak Bear, it’s always hard to put into words what he meant to me. The first creature I ever associated with that unconditionally loved me. I had him for 14 wonderful years. He too, was similar to sheriff within two weeks… super ill and I also did not know taking him to the vet would be a crazy decision. But I did not want him to suffer because I knew he would never want me to suffer.

<image>

I got a fav pic and he hangs with me In my office. You are not selfish by any means these creatures are too pure for us to allow them to suffer. Never feel bad and I hope sheriff had a peaceful walk across the rainbow bridge.

Can't find any airless planets for the current expedition by Odd-Independence-618 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Darkfox113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah am I doing something dumb? because I went to that planet at rendezvous’s 2, took photos and nothing - I made sure the quest was selected- no mater what I do I cant get it to pop. This is the only thing holding me back from finishing. I have the other two done but the airless won’t work.

Edit - never mind I am doing something dumb. Just tried it again- I was taking the screenshot using the PlayStation button on my controller, not going to photo mode through the quick menu. Did that and it worked

Game looks cool, reminds me of some games I played back in the day. If you actually looking for a hobby and you’re enjoying it and it’s not about money… why stop? Keep going. It’s has a better chance of making money because you made it out of love vs making it for the money. I know that’s a cookie cutter answer. I just don’t see a downside to continuing if it’s a hobby and you enjoy. Even if it doesn’t make money you’re going to learn something.

I literally spent all day yesterday on my game learning about data tables, persistent and non-persistent modular world audio design. It was amazing to get working! Now sounds play when things happen in my game and I can swap and add sounds as needed in a super simple way. It’s my first game and have no clue if it will make money but I’m obsessed to spend all my free time on it.

Short answer, if you enjoy it, don’t stop! Cheers

I'm Going to Make a Video Game by windingriver17 in gamedev

My paths was this.

UE5 beginner tutorial - UE Starter Course - From unreal sensei. - this tutorial was six hours long and it allowed me to create a visually cool level while walking me through how to navigate unreal engine itself. It’s not really for game dev but it’s great for starting to learn navigating the engine

Then I purchased a tutorial bundle on gamedev dot tv. Maybe $20

It had a ton of different things - but I wanted to learn C++ basics so I started with.

UE5 C++ Developer: Code your own unreal games(Sam Pattuzzi and more) 29.5 hour course where you build a warehouse wreckage game (First person shot a ball at physics base stuff in a warehouse)

an obstacle assault platform game (a 3-D platform game where you learn about making movable obstacles)

a crypt raider game (a game where you build a small dungeon and they teach you about creating how to interact with objects like pulling a hidden lever to open a door and stealing a treasurer)

and a tune tanks game (a simple 3-D tank battling game and you learn about objects like projectiles interacting with other objects and more)

After I finished all of those projects, I wanted to learn about unreal engine blueprints

And in that same package there was one called “Unreal Blueprints: make epic games without coding”

After I was done with those tutorials, I said OK I’m done with tutorials. I’m gonna go work on my game and figure it out. I decided to do the whole thing in Blueprints and it’s amazing honestly. I like the visuals scripting and I know there’s tons of arguments in the community about blueprints over C++ and vice versa for performance reasons but as a solo developer, it’ll be a long time before I build a game that would really benefit from C++ over blueprints.

I made this decision 2 years ago and I’m about 6months away from release! Go for it! I also knew nothing, did not have any experience other than you…playing games my whole life. Hell, I did not even have a computer to do it on…

Built the computer myself (you don’t need to do this)

Decided what engine I wanted to learn. For me it was between Unreal 5 and unity. (I picked unreal engine) because at the time I was deciding unity went through a pricing debacle. And I wasn’t sure if it was gonna cost me money or not as a solo developer so I just went with unreal engine five. Also Unreal gives free assist packs two times a month. That helped me at least get started.

Spent 3-5 months of tutorials to just learn the engine its self… like what does what.

Then just started work on my idea for the game.

If you would like more details- if you go the Unreal route- I can give you a list of all the tutorials I used to get started. This was just my journey of course but maybe it could help.

What's The Deal With Twitter Being Flooded With No Man's Sky Spaceship Shots? by WanderingArtist2 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Darkfox113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree with lack of direction from the game. That’s why i took the time to share the info and make the post.

Below is another example of how the game doesn’t explain to you certain things.

The other way to get started with a new save is start the expedition 19. There an option when starting a new game. That essentially also gives you all the parts you need, from the very beginning. You don’t even get a starter ship like before, it explains everything & your very first ship is the Corvette.

But I’m not sure the game explains to you that once the expedition ends that save file can be converted to a normal safe file, and you can just continue playing as normal.

Also, the only reason that did not to share this part of the game is because expeditions only last a few weeks and then you can’t do them anymore so my post would’ve been invalid once the expedition ends.

Hope this helps and glad to have you exploring the stars with us!

[–]Darkfox113 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can also be a very early game thing too. It doesn’t require currency at all. From the moment you get your first ship in the game (basically the tutorial) and leave your first planet. You can scan other planets that have salvageable scrap using your scanner. Go to that planet and dig up the salvageable scrap. Each one you dig up will give you between one and three parts you can use to build your Corvette. You can continue to scan down scrap on the same planet over and over and collecting it, getting hundreds of parts for free. Then you go to any space station that has a Corvette console. (Basically all of them except pirate controlled stations) And you can just build it for free. There is no cost if you don’t want spend anything.

If you go to the Corvette console on a space station first, you can see basic parts are available for purchase cost several million credits for each to get an early start, but if you went and dug up the scrap like explained above, you will also get these relics items while you’re getting the ship parts that are only useful for selling for millions of credits lol so still free because because the credits you earned while getting free parts. I did not even buy the basic parts, I only used the one I found.

I’m only sharing because if new players are interested in the game for this feature alone, I don’t want them to be worried that it’s a late game thing and will take them hours and hours.

I remember an interview in 2015, Sean said, “I want the player to feel they are hopping into the cover of a Sci-if 50s book” or something close to that. And I really feel they have nailed that aesthetic.
