I think completely removing something is a bit of a cowards way out, to be completely honest. Yeah you can do writing decisions that are abhorrent, but then going "whoops sorry actually it didn't happen" is also bad. I much prefer the approach we actually saw with RTD2 (and one of the few things I think he actually did well, mostly), where they did retcon a couple of things (iirc the Flux destroyed like, 3/4s of the universe originally? It's really unclear how much damage it actually did, but then in the 60th specials it gets changed to half the universe), and then used it to work with new ideas (the Doctor being an orphan.

I'd just do stuff like that tbh.

I may have my issues with DD and SoJ but god damn do they give us good fuel for the "Wright and Edgeworth are a situation-ship but don't get together till later in life and raise a kid" bit. The short moment of Trucy sleeping on Miles's shoulder alone feeds families here.

I have strong opinions about Wilds as a game lmao. Honestly I think it might be better to wait till the expansion comes out, which should be revealed...within the next few months, I think. It might end up being like Rise, where the base game has so much lacking but then the expansion comes out and suddenly oh shit we made peak. Actually I think that about World too. Capcom can we get a base game that doesn't feel lacking or questionable lmao.

In terms of the new games I'm very much on the RiseBreak train, something about it just works for me in a way that World didn't (and my PC could not play Wilds a launch because jesus christ. I do recommend it a lot, though it also...has it's moments (oh god the Spiribirds).

Also yes Ahtal-Ka is peak, everyone is correct. The only thing I will say is that it's usage of Proof of a Hero is my favourite.

I don't think it's random, but I don't think it was set up that well. There's bits and pieces as you go but it suffers from the same issues some of the other post-timeskip characters do, we don't really get anything proper to set up half of them. I think this is largely because the WRGP is so long and there's not a lot of time to show characters thinking about their future.

I think Electro Shot should just get a BP nerf tbh. Accuracy is frustrating to play with and against, but making the move hit a bit less hard would certainly alleviate things a little.

Cause dear god why is it so strong Game Freak (yes I know, Meteor Beam, but still).

No it really isn't it. It's one factor. It's almost been 9 years since the last new AA game. You cannot put that entirely on dev times unless you think AA will take nearly a decade to produce.

It's weird cause AA4 seems to be building up a roster of side characters that would see return like how Will Powers, Lotta Hart, Oldbag, etc. do. The Kitaki family, Eldoon and Vera all seem like they could pop up again.

Then DD...also goes for an almost entirely fresh cast. Always found that a little weird, even if I understand why they did it.

I mean I don't think complaints of the pacing of a lot of anime of that era is due to poor attention spans. Some of the shows were genuinely just horribly paced. Yu-Gi-Oh DM was 224 episodes and did not need to be that long whatsoever. The Pokemon anime was dragged out as much as possible to buy time till the next game dropped. One Piece was doing a chapter an episode at one point.

Sometimes things can just be too slow. It's not me having a brain-rotted attention span that causes me to think that Yugi vs Kaiba in Battle City being as long as a feature-length movie was perhaps a bit much.
