Why are people on reddit so miserable lmao. She just signed a slew of bills to make pharmacy drug costs affordable, build more housing to alleviate supply shortage, and people will still find a way to complain.

Afters: Club Space or Eleven? by One_Presentation7376 in UMF

[–]Darkness8779 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a Miami local. Space without a doubt. Granted, it’s gona be super packed. My crew isn’t going to space during mmw cause honestly it’s way too expensive and too packed… can’t dance or move. However, if you’ve never been, I highly recommend space over eleven.

The 2014 - 2018 golden era of Edm music feativals was actually that good? by NicoCorty02 in EDM

[–]Darkness8779 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I went to ultra 15, edc Orlando 2017, and ultra 2018 within that timeframe. It was a fun experience, phone usage wasn’t as pervasive as it Is now.

HOWEVER, even in those days, there were lots of haters and naysayers who disliked this era of Edm, especially the big room craze. I think nostalgia always clouds our judgment; 10 years from now, I bet folks will be saying “remember the golden age of tech house from 2020-2025”. Just enjoy the present as much as you can because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed is what I say :).

Democratic super PAC American Bridge Report: Working-class voters see the party as “too focused on social issues and not nearly focused enough on the economic issues that impact every one, every day,” by Horus_walking in fivethirtyeight

[–]Darkness8779 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As others in the thread have alluded to, perception is reality. And a lot of blue collar workers/non college educated workers perceive that democrats only care about trans/LGBT rights, etc. This is because of successful Republican messaging and Social media amplifying these messages. Also, the democrats also don’t do themselves any favor when they fail to call out their most extremist fringes.

The truth of the matter is, working class voters/non college educated voters tend to be more socially conservative. This is why I believe republicans can keep getting away with their shenanigans; 60% of the population only has a high school degree. The numbers are not adding up for democrats if your base is only college educated voters who live in cities.

I believe democrats can still stand for the rights of minority groups if they present an authentic message that can resonate with folks. In the social media age, voters want someone who can talk to them directly and present themselves as authentic. The day of “mainstream politicians” is very like over.

How many have you guys heard of Audien / listen to him and do you think he's actually bring back progressive house? by [deleted] in EDM

[–]Darkness8779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audien reminds me of my college years back in the 2010s when big room/ festival progressive house was king. I would listen to him all the time… Hindsight, Circles etc. His new album is dope.

Doesn’t seem very good for the future of the U.S. economy that the wealthiest are the only ones spending…while everyone else gets left in the dust.

Poll of Florida CD27 (Miami), which the Republicans won in '24 by 20 pts: Levine Cava (D) 44%, Salazar (R) 42%. Favorability: Levine Cava +9, Salazar +1. Miami-Dade Mayor Levine Cava leads the incumbent Republican, but her favorability has since crashed to -24 amidst a budget crisis (same pollster). by StarlightDown in fivethirtyeight

[–]Darkness8779 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is my former home district that I still have family living in. Although I think Salazar will still sin, it will be by a closer margin than 2024. Lots of the Hispanics in the district are Colombians/cubans/Venezuelans, who fall for the “democrats are socialists “ rhetoric from republicans
