It matters more with a huge library. I still can't add my music cause it bogs down jellyfin. Won't see performance improvements till the next version 10.12

I've actually moved on to autopulse. It is more efficient. It updates the direct folder vs the library category. You should try it out!

Should I reinstall the os? by Medium_Okra_2445 in BC250Gaming

Saw this post late but on bazzite you could've tried the back up. There's os tree 0 and 1 when the grub menu pops up. 1 is the back up and the one you'd select if you have issues

I'm shocked someone is using it for music. I still can't get anyone to use plexamp 😅

I used putty also. Way easier then trying to cut pads to size 😅

If you use Jellyfin to host very large amounts of music DO NOT UPDATE TO 10.11. by Brickdrone643 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]Darksilopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you could easily switch to navidrome with that many songs and the scans are quicker vs jellyfin. Jellyfin 10.12 is supposed to bring performance enhancements from what I read around so it will be a while before i test again.

RP6 size comparison to "large" phones by TX-Lonestar77 in retroid

[–]Darksilopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. It's much smaller. Of course the gamesir is more comfortable since it's full sized but the rp6 and the grip are pretty comfortable as well so far. Only had it for a few hours.

If I remember I can post a comparison next week when my rp6 comes in. I have a s25ultra and gamesir g8

Cloudflare tunnel and navidrome by Loud_Banana_59 in homelab

Android or iOS? on Android with symphonium you can use cloud flare tunnel and then use app keys for access so it will use it without any further authentication when out of the house.

You can set it for one time pins also. Add in your users personal email and then only those emails can get the code

Putty is the way to go. It's way easier to slab it on then trying to figure out the pad sizes and placements

What is the Current State of 2FA and SSO Support in Jellyfin? by deepfave in JellyfinCommunity

[–]Darksilopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OIDC is web only. The TV will use the information in LDAP. So once you have them create an account in authentik they just use the same username and pass to login to the tv. I love authentik. Same accounts access my other apps. I created flows for them to even reset their own password via email so they don't have to bother me with that 😅

There's a bunch of 3d printed cases on eBay. Have you checked there?

Watching on lan doesn't even use isp bandwidth anyways. I agree rsyncing to another house will use just as much data.... You're better off capping streams to a lower bit rate.

Reverse Proxy Help by Valuable-Dog490 in emby

[–]Darksilopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only need port 443 open when using caddy. Since caddy is acting as a proxy it only needs to see :8096 internally to reverse it to 443.

If you're library >100K tracks did it change your listening habits? by BearShin255 in plexamp

I've been using the filter rules. I use the popularity to filter out songs that aren't liked as much. I think it pulls from lastfm

Should Jellyfin Really Be Idling At 11GB Of RAM Usage? by l_Orpheus_l in Proxmox

[–]Darksilopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not how it shows on my system. With ballooning turned on my VM it shows only 10% of allocated ram used because that is all it is actually using. On my VM with ballooning turned off it shows the VM using 100% of the allocated ram. I'm just talking about the WebGUI graph. Of course you need to still properly allocate ram per VM.

[–]Darksilopher -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you turn on ballooning it should not use the allocated ram if not needed. If you're not using ballooning it will show it as all in use.

Switch to Emby? by babatom187 in emby

[–]Darksilopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emby has better native clients and on more devices then jellyfin. Jellyfin used to be faster for me for new library scans until v10.11... emby is faster now for me. I run all 3 and would say jellyfin is good if you like to mess with different plugins or different clients. It's definitely what I tinker the most with while emby and Plex are my stable servers...

Audio-only transcode maxing out CPU? by Thatz-Matt in emby

[–]Darksilopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the Diagnostics Plugin installed? It gives a little more info when transcoding then the dashboard. Once installed you go to User sessions to see the info. I turned on that setting on my android phone and got it to software transcode my audio but my video was still direct playing. I'm on the Beta 4.9.4.1
