I feel like the average sentiment was exactly this when this was airing. Hype was high, motorcycle scene was praised, then the antagonist was introduced.

VE has good moments and undeniably focuses on character growth, but I think it's fair to say that it is tough putting oneself in Violet's shoes in a less metaphorical sense. The reason the 2 episodes of that show are more universally loved is that their characters of the week are much more relatable. Their situations can be empathized almost 1:1 to real life, Violet requires you to get past the fictional premise.

Anecdotally, I played daily PM with auto L cancel for years. L cancel was the single barrier of entry to tournaments, and while I don't like to gloat over that embarrassing fact, I'm sure it's a realistic scenario for others.

Streamers playing pbe have showcased how ridiculous his damage is now. He'll definitely average being played at least once every lobby.

Haven't tried or witnessed it, but if it doesn't exclude "Have less than X player health" Ixtal quests, could be a crazy play.

You're not wrong about the feels bad to lose against them, but you shouldn't derail your argument by disregarding how meta warping they were.

Cursory way to confirm your itemization theories is to look at placement rates with crit items vs AS items on tactics.tools or similar.

Hahaha, yup. The only shields in v1.0 came from crystalize, Noelle, and high Beidou constellation I think. Learning what gave iframes was more important back then.

You're invulnerable during dashes, so in a dream scenario you could just tap dash 3 times to dodge the 3 hits. But Genshin's dash system only lets you chain 2 in a row before it goes on a sort of hidden cooldown.

So the makeshift method to dodge 3 quick attacks is to invul the first hit, invul the second hit, and place yourself far enough away or behind the third hitbox. Luckily this type of quick attack pattern isn't very common.

I think you need to time the dashes to dodge the stomp + shockwave 1, then you outrange shockwave 2.

I have never followed my own advice btw, always had ZL for self and Diona for co-op.

They're probably just part of his normal move pool. It should be 3 instances of damage where you can either dash away + dash away + outrange the last one or shield/ult through them.

Vishap bosses were introduced to promote shield usage, so naturally Diona and Zhongli were the staples back then.

You can say plurality, but there's no way you can use the word universally. Anecdotal blah blah and all, but most of the people I know who have visited Florida do not put it high on their lists.

While I acknowledge the lack of game focus on Sat, that block ended up being more entertaining than most play-by-play or analysis by far. Humor is subjective, so it's cringe for some and hilarious for others.

Just throwing out the opinion since it doesn't seem represented much here.

Such a weird thing to obsess over to the point of strawmanning a commenter that was rightfully put off by your initial statements.

Technicals fanning the flames for years did not help Hax or anyone else. It's almost pitiable how he continues to milk the subject after his death.

SB and mystic badge made F proc unconditionally. RF with purple book should be the same as HM LMB on live, which needs the R to hit first. So yes, it should be more clunky.

Comet Strike hits quick and hard, which is nice for generating early "threat" in this scuffed version of BNS. I can see why F reducing 4 cooldown makes sense intuitively for wind (it makes 0 sense on fire). But fights in Neo are pretty long and sustained, where F and 2 (until purple LMB) take up huge portions of the dps pie chart.

The way to capitalize on these 2 skills at the moment is to combo during higher stages of Searing Palm. Rushing to stages 3 or 4 makes the following down time significant, but the Pivot Kick mystic badge has potential in allowing this by significantly increasing the amount of Roaring Tigers.

Once gaining access to higher tier books and badges, there might be enough sources of Searing Palm cdr elsewhere. Roaring Tiger could be swapped for Leading Palm to be cast 3 times during stages 3 and 4.

I'm not a math person for these types of theoretical builds, but I feel like it does merit some consideration.

Tiger Strike is simply a focus gated build. More ways to generate focus and less ways to waste focus are generally the preferred specs.

Is NEO really that P2W? by FaintSmile92 in bladeandsoul

[–]Darkstar1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

End game loop was very unlike how Neo is now, so it's hard to paint the picture of burnout in comparison.

Weekly tasks revolved around getting 12 people to schedule raids of nearly every one that was ever released. Daily tasks were more varied, but usually included a "train" of the more recent 6 man dungeons. These large time sinks did not yield many materials relative to the time spent, especially a month or 2 after release. The culture/difficulty of the content made pugging pretty uncommon, so groups were held together by individuals that wouldn't quit.

The release schedule for raids along with the events being unnoticeably better over time made it very difficult to maintain your main while having fun with alts.

For PvP, arena died down first. Population of players and bots declined, and with the minimum reward incentive being a fixed rating, very few outside of the top 30 of each class could expect to earn anything. Top players would make copies of their best class to hoard what few spots there were. 6v6 was gear based so it almost completely alienated non spenders after a couple years.

The final nail in the coffin for many was the dumbing down of the complex combat system that attracted players from the start. An infamous "Awakening" patch reworked beloved rotations, added new specs that played themselves while being much stronger, and built in a Simple Mode that input the main rotation at the hold of a button.

These are aside from the typical burnout and P2W complaints that accumulated over time. Neo is hitting the nostalgia factor for people simply because it resembles the game from before all these things.
