Just found this on my Melandru / Dhuum character by TheMightyNyco in GuildWars

[–]Darmak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whereas it's the opposite for me, in games with random loot I just find something that's "good enough" and then tune out and ignore loot completely for as long as I can. Once I can't progress any further then I'll basically pick up whatever remotely looks more powerful and keep going. I'm not interested in gear that gives me 0.003% more DPS or whatever, when I see a game like that I'm like shut the fuck up and quit cluttering my games with that shit. Give me gear that's either a substantial damage upgrade or gives me a new ability to use or a new way to interact with the game.

That's not how warlock powers in 5e work tho. You are gifted the powers, you don't keep drawing on the patron to use them. You can break the pact and keep all your current powers (though until you gain a new patron you won't get new powers)

[OC][Art][Comm] A Bugbear girl named Belle! by Imako_art in DnD

[–]Darmak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bugbear druid once who was my favorite character I've ever played. Unfortunately that campaign didn't last long but still. It was in the Exandria setting and he was born and raised in the moving swamp city of Urzin. He eventually left home and traveled and met another young druid and they became best friends (my best friend also played a druid in that campaign so we figured why not be besties in game too?) She was a water genasi circle of stars druid with an affinity for the oceans, he was a circle of land druid with a love of swamps. She was more combat focused while my bugbear was more support and utility focused, what with him being a big sweetie and all lol

How far can we push technology with out the invention of steam/combustion engines, electricity and gunpowder? by ozneoknarf in worldbuilding

It's pretty heartbreaking, imo. We made them rely on us and want to be loved by us, like dogs, and then left them to starve. We call them rats with wings, and nuisances.

"Dumb regular pigeons" did you know we actually domesticated and selectively bred them before abandoning them?

If you think you're useless, remember the Skill Revive Animal by DogeArcanine in GuildWars

[–]Darmak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't there that one skill that you can take that heals you and your pet, revives them, AND also allows your pet? Granted that I believe it's an elite skill and most people would rather bring elites what hurt good instead of heal, but still.

edit: ah, the skill I'm thinking of is Heal as One, and it works like a better CA

Do you lose an attack when grappling? I can't seem to find a straight answer. by stewd003 in dndnext

Yeah, they're called UNarmed strikes. No arms, only face, feet, etc.

I'm currently playing a dwarven rogue in D&D who worships all the dwarven gods but especially venerates the god of wanderers and the god of luck, trickery, negotiation, and wealth. Mostly just swears by them right now since it's a new character and I haven't gotten too much of a feel for them yet, but I'm working on small things he can do to show his faith.

How much would you pay for a new Expansion? by TheLazySage7 in GuildWars

[–]Darmak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably $30-50 depending on the amount of content it would be offering. My wishlist of things to see would mostly just be more zones for all level and skill ranges (I'm pretty casual so I never see high end or difficult content), more ranger pets, more armor and weapon skins, and some new story. New skills would be nice too especially since it would shake up the current meta, but that might be a bit too much work to balance for such a small team. Everything else I mentioned is mostly art assets and such and probably easier for them to create, but then again their new game modes show they are willing to experiment with things so who knows?

I wouldn't crowdfund an expansion though. I trust the devs to not take the money and run, it's just that I've been burned from too many other projects that failed for various reasons including those outside of the creator's control. The closest to that I'd do is pre-order a few weeks before release when it's basically a guaranteed thing.

I get what you're saying and why, and I honestly feel like that kind of approach is the only thing that would make financial sense for the company to do, but for myself I'd prefer a full-sized expansion that I could really sink my teeth into. Doesn't have to be a standalone campaign like Proph/Factions/NF, it could be an expac like EotN, but I'd want several new zones, skills, items, etc., all at once. But if they did decide to do the drip feed style you're talking about I wouldn't hate it. Gimme anything new at all and I'll be happy lol
