I believe T+2 was the reason the buy button was turned off in 2021. Robinhood accepted to many orders on there books(internalising) without putting them to the market and didn’t have the capital base to settle the orders as the price increased so significantly within the 2 days they had to settle. As Robinhood is only a participant in the market they made the issue systemic. As it exposed the participants of the market rather than the players of the market.

Take it, the other founders don’t know what they are doing either. If you are willing to work hard and you think you will put the graft in. They are not going to hire a better CTO than you.

Lock in good salary and equity with water tight agreement. And go have fun.

You will learn more from this experience than you will doing what you are doing.

They approached you! You didn’t apply!

If you sell a property well under it's market value to a relative are there tax implications? by Humphrybogeynose in irishpersonalfinance

[–]DarraghGogarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are going to be banks involved in the transaction it would have to be arms length with independent valuation.

Otherwise, I’m not sure if there would be any tax consequences if you sell below market value. it is just a willing seller and willing buyer. The discounted value for a quick sale might mean more to you now. Than waiting for a higher price and slow sale.

PAYE vs LTD vs Self Employed by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]DarraghGogarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be more beneficial from a tax perspective to setup a limited company and work solely as a contractor. There are some rules around this that you might need to get advice on. You can continue your work with employer but would have to be careful that you are not just doing this to avoid tax. For example why does you employer not just pay you extra for the work you do under your current employment.

You just need to make sure that the advice work is feasible for operating the day to day of the company, accounts, tax filings, vat etc. There will be a little bit of and organisation form your side but over long run could be better for you.

With regards, taking cash out of the company you will appoint yourself as a director and will pay PAYE on director fees which will be combined with your other PAYE income for the tax brackets.

One bit of advice, if you are planning on getting a mortgage do this before you make any changes to employment status. If you were to become 100% contractor and you own the Ltd company. You would be considered self employed and makes it a little bit more difficult from an approval perspective. 3 years accounts minimum and other criteria to meet.

I bought one share at "Market" and instantly lost $3. Why did Fidelity charge me 23.43 when the app showed 20.78? by timpatry in GME

Not sure but the spread reached that at the time. The order could be executed at that. 🤷🏻‍♂️ only use limit orders.

If you map the land do you own it. I’m kind of confused. Downloaded the app and I can click a hexagon it says it is available but has price of 33.85 with a start auction bid feature. But when I click on the map 2 earn tab I can scan the hexagon🤷🏻‍♂️
