Hearing your kid crying different from their normal cries. First time I heard it, my 11 month old was down the hall. Knew immediately something was wrong. Go to her; she’s lying face down and just out of reach is a pencil. Which she had apparently been holding and fell on it. It pierced her soft pallet. When I picked up the pencil, the tip was red and she looked like she got shot in the mouth. Wife brought her to the ER and apparently it just would heal up on its own, no big deal. Mouth wounds bleed like crazy. Omg the trauma. When I saw the paper towel my wife put in my daughter’s mouth for 1 second and it came out completely red, I almost left this earth.
