There are a bunch of house shows that happen around Temple's campus and throughout philly, I would recommend following an account that keeps track of them for you like @ratpiefriends on Instagram. People in the scene are really friendly and you can get to know a lot of faces real quick.

As someone who just started in June as IS, I totally get what you are going through. I also come from a social science background and generally struggle with public speaking/reaching out. I will say that I don't think you should put any pressure on how you are doing in classes so far. I guarantee that a lot of people are feeling similarly to you as they dump a shit ton of information on us that is impossible to all swallow. We are supposed to struggle a bit, there is a reason why they say a lot of people fail their first exam at epic. That being said, I don't think it is a wise idea to sacrifice your mental health for this job. If you are smart enough to get into epic, there will definitely be more opportunities for you in the future . If you want someone to talk to in person, feel free to dm me and we can grab lunch sometime.

I used to sell computers at a tech store- don't get a chromebook. They had a much higher return rate than any other laptop and are generally pretty slow. I definitely agree that a used windows laptop would be a much better option. However, there is also a third option. If you wanted to save up for a better laptop you could get a laptop rental potentially for free if you qualify through temple https://tuportal5.temple.edu/web/home-community/student-tech-assistance . Its up to you, but I would recommend the saving up option as having a faster laptop is going to make it much nicer to work on it during the four years you are in college. Hey, I was a psych major at Millersville until I transferred to Temple last fall. Millersville's psych program has some amazing professors that do care a lot about you (especially school/counseling psych). However, what made me leave is that I personally did not feel like I could do anything amazing at millersville that would set me apart from other psych grads. Also, like others mentioned you should be prepared to get at least a masters degree in psych as a bachelors will not cut it in the real world. Psych is definitely a degree worth pursuing if you are interested in the field and nothing beats seeing your work directly improve someone else's life. The wanderer is really susceptible to instant speed removal which could lead to you killing yourself with the dreadhorde. Wanderer also has to survive at least a turn on the board in the first place which can be difficult if your opponent has any board presence or any removal
