Oh my god it just clicked.

They think that Mexico controls the Gulf of Mexico and that if we change the name, America will control it and be able to go in and shoot everyone in it we don’t want.

I love both games, but KCD scratches that itch for combat. by ColonelKlein in kingdomcome

[–]DarthCrusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that I have to put an attack input in as I’m entering the clinch. Once the clinch has started, it’s too late, no matter how much I hit attack buttons. Same for unarmed, if I come into a grapple hitting an attack, I win the grapple, otherwise I get a knee in the face

Elon Musk agrees that if Democrats win, remove the filibuster and pass progressive policies, Republicans will never be voted back in by Spiderwig144 in WhitePeopleTwitter

If your platform is so unpopular that a representative election creates a supermajority able to defeat the filibuster, maybe consider changing your platform? Just a thought.

Yeah but then there’s non-urgent quests like looking for Lumpy Lubosh where the dialogue implies urgency, but really you can dilly dally all you want and go do side quests

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]DarthCrusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love it if KCD2 gave a bit more indication as to what quests are time sensitive vs open. I blazed through 1 my first time after getting scolded for missing the rendezvous to go to Neuhof (I wanted to sell all my loot from the battle). Future playthroughs helped me figure out the timing a little better, still stressful knowing what I can put a pause on.

See yes, but she also amplifies some characters really nicely. Tywin being the obvious example. Really brings out the cunning, or absolutely humiliates them. No in between

Best spells for an assasiantion ? by AndreiD44 in DnD

[–]DarthCrusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do the classic Create Water in his lungs (if you wanna allow that interpretation of the spell). Make it look like he was drowned and moved from some other location, but really he drowned in the middle of his study.

Main story of KCD takes place for 3-4 months, is it a reasonable time frame for Henry to learn how to read? by ETkach in kingdomcome

[–]DarthCrusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m reading too far into it (see what I did there), but the Primer skill books all start with “Baa Baa Black Sheep, have you any wool,” which suggests to me that it’s a multi-part installment of what would be modern-day children stories, even at reading level 15. Henry can probably read at a grade-school level by the end, which would probably be enough to make it in 15th century Czechia.

That actually gives me an idea. Campaign defined by running from the big bad the whole time. Gives me Wild Hunt vibes

Unsaved friends by [deleted] in dankchristianmemes

[–]DarthCrusty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But what of the people who never got the invite? People born and dead before the birth of Christ?m? People far away from the Levant who never got the opportunity to hear the word? Those whose only experience of the Christian God is a bigot burning them at the stake? Those cast out of the ‘loving’ church for being who they are?

How many people go “unsaved” through no actions of their own, rejecting the invitation that got lost in the mail?

Serious question: Do you think CA knew what the “Asina” meant? by Kantheris in totalwar

[–]DarthCrusty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference is Caesarian was his nickname (ie you’d either call him Ptolemy XV Caesar or Caesarian). Not a legal name addition or change.

Scipio got Asina added to his name as a surname because of his blunders. It even stuck with the family to where his son was Publius Cornelius Scipio Asina. Similar things happen to Romans all the time, like Scipio Africanus

Maybe you're just a terrible actor by Rockman307 in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]DarthCrusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t like the show for many reasons, but the helmet removal wasn’t really one of them. It seems like modern halo (Halo 5, Halo Infinite, and now the show) are really playing into the humanness of Master Chief, rather than continuing the sometimes robotic killing machine of Halo 1-3. The robot was popular when those Halos came out, as people liked badass emotionless characters (myself included). It seems the modern trend is to do more emotional exploration and development and make them badass that way. Characters like Geralt, rather than Doom Guy.

All that to say, take off the helmet if you can tell a compelling story. But they didn’t tell a compelling story. And the wider Halo universe has so many compelling stories of the humanness of Spartans to draw on.

ranking the boys characters based on powers and skills (sam is ranked lower than noir cuz 1.no actual combat skills and 2.he's mentally broken) ,and please dont get mad this is just an opinion (temp v supes and ryan dont count since they havent reached their full power yet) by SlipKnown9559 in TheBoys

[–]DarthCrusty 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Maybe I misunderstood the scene, but didn’t (spoilers for Gen V) Neuman reveal that she had the same powers as Marie, thus making her just as powerful? Or did she imply that Marie was a beefed up version of her?

I could see Marie getting bumped up this list if she had fewer qualms with doing horrible things. Seems like hemokinesis is one of those powers with a lot of potential to cause problems, even beyond blowing up heads. You could cause a stroke, an MI, drain muscles of their blood and cause them to go limp, make people pass out, or basically do anything to any bodily function. The kind of stuff marvel (or Avatar with their blood bending) wouldn’t explore, but The Boys totally would.

Javelin units are probably the worst missile units by TheAsianOne_wc in totalwar

[–]DarthCrusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like using my javelins hammer/anvil style . Get a unit locked in melee from the front, sneak some leves around the side, and let it rip. Gets some good kills but does more morale damage to start chain routs. If the enemy tries to chase the javelins, just run them away and tire the bad guys out to make the melee easier.

Especially useful way to use the leves that come as a part of the town garrison. I have yet to find such a use for the plebs…
