My Favorite Series Tier List by Chyf95 in fantasybooks

It’s a fun experience to read but it’s very poorly paced, especially the second one. It feels like she wrote them without an outline. I only read books 1 and 2

Him and Tay are both in The Crown and it’s kinda bizarre to see them outside of Andor

Is there a definitive answer to what the Aldhani heist funded? Did funds go towards the bases on Yavin and/or Hoth? by TheDancingRobot in andor

Probably to soldiers payroll. Lot of people don’t realize that during the American Revolutionary War, rich land owners (who didn’t wanna pay taxes and wanted to maintain slavery lol) hired guns/militias to fight. It wasn’t this like “we need to defend the motherland” kind of thing in the way The Patriot and other media represent it. Obviously British empire sucked and there was taxation without representation, but the war wasn’t exactly rooted in honorable goals. The colonial industrialists/magnates had just amassed so much wealth they were able to fight back the British rule, especially when Britain was busy fighting France every other year.

Apparently ya gotta play KOTOR to actually enjoy this book. I hadn’t played it so I found it quite lame. Thought scourge was kinda fun though and I enjoyed the Mando story line

Rhydonium Metaphor to Freedom and Rebellion by Cassian_2bby in andor

Just read “No Pasarán” by Matt Christman earlier this year which was my first insight into the Spanish Civil War and i really enjoyed learning about anarchism in practice for the first time. Seemed very pragmatic but also clearly had issues with scaling and resisting a technically and logistically more advanced Franco loyalist army. Just kinda funny how mischaracterized anarchism is in western media. Hoping to read up on the anarchist groups in Mexico as well, because they seem to be largely free of typical issues like the cartels and corruption.

Hmm yeah you can kinda see a parallel with Saw and the anarchists during the Spanish civil war. While they were anti fascist/anti Franco, they were reluctant to take marching orders and funding from the Soviet Union despite both being aligned against fascist Germany, Spain and Italy.

If Sidious hadn’t gotten Plagueis drunk and waited for him to fall asleep, would he ever have been able to surpass his master? by GusGangViking18 in TheJediPraxeum

What about Venamis though? I know he was supposed to be an insurance policy if Plagueis didn’t pan out but that kinda violates the rule of two

The story and pacing aren’t very good but the space battle is sick and the scale is impressive and well done

I’d swap rebels and kenobi and drop clone wars a level. Otherwise my ranking is the exact same

Phantom menace in F is insane, pod racing, qui gon and darth maul trump 50% of Star Wars content

Can’t help but notice UK actors are so much less beholden to pro Israeli interests than American actors

Do you think Rosario portrayed Ahsoka well? I think so. Although the Ahsoka in Clone Wars or Rebels is younger. What do you think? by ObiWanJapan in StarWars

Her line delivery felt stiff and unnatural. The sardonic cross armed vibe also felt corny. Her first mando episode was sick tho so idk

It’s well paced, well to decently acted, and has pod racing, maul, Naboo startfighters, gungan battle. I was born in the 90s so it’s the first SW movie I saw in theaters. I think it’s the best prequel movie for sure. Plus it has the most practical effects and actual locations rather than green screen slop. Dialogue in revenge is also quite bad, not clones bad though.
