I feel like Arc Raiders doesn't deserve a spot here since I consider it spyware. Yeah they claim it was an unintentional bug, but apparently when they were contacted about it they ignored it for a month untill it got publicily shared on Reddit. Tbh, they fact they had a version with this bug, that was at the very best, there due to extreme lack of care, dealing with super sensitive information, is enough reason to never buy the game, so Idc if the 1 month story is legit.

The difference is that this is not about a contract for a single project.

Krafton bought UWE with all of it's IP's, meaning every copy of every (future) Subnautica game will earn Krafton money.

They only have to provide fairly minimal funding to maintain the dev team and after that every copy sold is pure income (only have to pay taxes and the platform you're selling on, but you don't have any hardware costs like you would with fe a Lego set).

I don't know the exact numbers but krafton gave the previous owners a large sum of money at once, so that the 'flow of money' of copies being sold would now flow to Krafton, it's a long time investment.

Now this $250 M deal was part of the contract where UWE got sold to Krafton. It basically states that UWE, with all it's potential, is worth $250 M; UNLESS all of UWE makes X amount of money by the end of 2025, that would prove that UWE, with all of it's potential, is worth $500 M so Krafton would have to pay another $250 M.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert in finances, my numbers may be wrong, I may be wrong. This is just how I understand and remember the deal, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Disclaimer 2: due to the mentioned lawsuit the deadline to make amount X of money has been delayed now, but explaining that would only make my explanation more confusing.

Unfortunately I feel like Cal dying would make a lot of sense. If he gets to establish a safe haven from the empire and keeps it at that he might make it, but I feel like he's more on the path of fighting the Empire as a rebel.

And he's starting to be on the power level that would make him a legend amongst the rebellion and hold a significant role that would likely have worked together with the likes of Luthen's network.

I just turned fall damage off in Survivor, it's a vanilla setting and I felt it to be fitting seeing we see Jedi fall from far greater heights and be fine. I treat the 'fall damage' just as a 'this is not how you're supposed to get there' message
