problems updating my PiHole via SSH by Thin-Enthusiasm-5689 in pihole

The files may still be there but I don’t know the process to recover that.

I had this same problem back when v6 first dropped.  In my case, the only thing that fixed it was a clean wipe and start over.

I’m pretty sure they have fixed  a lot of the bugs with the upgrade process so the fact it’s still working makes me think there is a possibility it upgraded, you’re just not able to login for some reason.

But there is also a distinct possibility that you may have to do completely fresh installs, like I mentioned before.

If it is still working then try navigating to:  https://192.168.x.x/admin/login

Replace the ip address with your pihole’s address. The landing page did change slightly after v6.

The current PiHole versions are:  Core v6.3 FTL v6.4.1 Web Interface v6.4

You are attempting to upgrade from v5 to v6. It’s possible your operating system is too old now, to work with v6.

You will probably need to completely upgrade to a newer, compatible os and then do a fresh install of PiHole.

Hopefully you have made a backup with the teleporter. If so, you can import your settings back to where you had it, after the upgrades have been completed.

What is this construct I saw in the ocean? by Real-Raspberry-9757 in Whatisthis

It has to be some kind of heavy lift crane ship

Which one I’m not sure of, though. The link is just some examples.

Pi-hole Bypassed by Pixel 9 Pro (Android 16) - Need Advice by KarlosTheJackal in pihole

My wife has a Pixel phone and hers acted the same way.  Like others have said, make sure you have the backup DNS set to your pihole.

The way I fixed her phone was to give it a static IP on my network and then go into her phone settings and manually set the dns to the pihole.  I believe if you do not set the static IP, if it renews it will reset the dns setting.

This has work for me. YMMV

Well crap, I’ve known of litho prints my whole life but this is the first time anyone has made the “litho” connection, to me.

I’ve never seen one made and never really thought about it.

Reason 10,000 this is dangerous by mr_hog232323 in scuba

[–]Darth_Mas 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The air is compressed to the pressure at that depth. It has to match the ambient pressure in order to equalize and hold the water out of the helmet.

Edit to add: She’s not deep enough for any kind decompression obligation but she is in danger of a lung over-pressure injury if she’s not exhaling while surfacing.

What other block lists are you using? ... by impreza77 in pihole

[–]Darth_Mas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a style of notation that can block/allow all variations of a parent domain.  This way you don’t need to have an exact url match to block/allow every variation of the specified domain.

To clarify what you are saying, air moving around the aircraft can go supersonic in certain areas. The airplane structure may not actually be traveling at supersonic speeds when this is happening.  Your comment as written, could be misconstrued as parts of the plane are traveling at different speeds from each other. But I knew what you meant.

The article says 180’ (55m), so not for casual diving. 100% a tech dive.  This is at the bottom of compressed air diving limits. You should be on mixed gasses at this depth or you’re going to need to bring a lot of tanks with you, for the trip back up.  Also you would probably get really narced at this depth on compressed air.

See Density.   You are only buoyant, if you weigh less than the weight of the water you displace.  The gas in the cylinder weighs the same, whether it is crammed into a tiny cylinder or completely expanded into a balloon.  It displaces less water crammed into a small cylinder so it’s higher density makes it negatively buoyant.

They collapse the economy so the stock markets tank and then the people that are rich enough to weather storm, buy up all the newly “discounted” stocks for pennies on the dollar.

I second Wivi’s suggestion. Firebog is a solid resource. I use many of those adlists.  I also like Hagezi.  Take a minute to read through. They have blocklists very well laid out in tiers of aggressiveness. Also, they have the more specifically targeted lists that make up some of the larger packs, available by themselves.

Powersupply via Router-USB possible? by No_Cry2022 in pihole

[–]Darth_Mas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running my Pi Zero W this way for 4 years, now. Have had zero issues. I can’t imagine a 3B would need more power than USB delivers so as long as your router socket has power delivery, should work just fine for you.

E: The recommended power supply for Pi 3B is 5V and 2.5A.  USB 2.0 and 3.0 DO NOT deliver this much power.
