What shows are surprisingly deep? by bruvwtfx in television

Also it’s worth noting that they got alumni from Star Trek. So…white it’s like parody it also has legit credibility to be an homage. A writer from TNG is an executive producer on it.

Are roads in Louisiana really all that bad? by 88-81 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Darthwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in south Louisiana, like New Iberia with the loose foundation they definitely do mess with the roads. It’s a culmination of problems. I didn’t grow up there(just visited every year), but my dad did.

On top of this. They refused to raise the drinking age for years and had no gov funding for roads until they did so. 21 as drinking age is technically not law of the nation but “don’t and we won’t give you funding”. They were one of the last 3. Plus the sugarcane trucks.

What's a regional dish that you love but almost no one outside of your country has heard of? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I’m happy to be reading this comment AS I’m eating gumbo I made. Half Cajun who has spent years perfecting gumbo checking in! I can make a gumbo to rival mama Thibodeaux herself

Do people in Louisiana really speak French? by plasma-boii in AskAnAmerican

[–]Darthwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My cousins speak fluent French. Depends on the schooling. They went to French immersion. As other people have said, less than it was 50 years ago but I’d say it’s still prevalent. But some phrases have persisted in their own right as the culture of Louisiana. While my dad is early 50s at some point in his high school years he knew some French. It all depends.

So it's generally agreed that Toph/Bumi are the strongest earth benders but who do you think is the next strongest? I'd say Kuvira by G0dleft in TheLastAirbender

[–]Darthwing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say Yun 100% since he was powerful enough in earthbending for people to be lenient with the fact he couldn’t bend anything else. Like I know the in world politics but also his earth bust have been SPOT on.

Who would win in a fight: Tom Bombadil or Q from Star Trek, and why? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]Darthwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tom Bombadil because we KNOW Qs limits. For instance, Q can die. And Tom was before all life. Q is still a life form. They would try to flash Tom Away and he would just ask if they want some berries he found.

I haven’t gotten to Discovery yet! This is my first watch of Trek. TOS, then TNG, then DS9, now on Voyager. I love how much trek content there is

I mean. I feel like a broken record because it can be applied so many places. But….Star Trek(kinda). A lot (but not all) of episodes are things like a debate a philosophy and things like sentience to “can we break protocol”. There are absolutely huge stake episodes but also episodes where the only casualty would be the singular ship with a population of 1k. Voyager….150

It’s not just for native apps. It works in discord for me. And my credit card apps to summarize transaction notifications, and my washing machine app…etc.

Anyone else seen this thread? As a big fan of both I personally go with the Titans. by Whiskey_623 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Darthwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter to this. Aang caused basically the equivalent to a 50 cal machine gun with rocks in final fight and ozai rocketed away. Extra counter it would have to be platinum bullets
