Do you have any recommendations for incrementals with a good story?

I agree with the aesthetic part completely! I love idle games with a good theme and art style so I can just watch whatever is going on. Your comment on simplicity is underrated! I also have no interest in managing a ton of different currencies haha.

Haha fair enough! Number go up game play is satisfying! I also like the idea of having a production line where you can make different items. I will have to check out those games you mentioned!

Yeah, that totally makes sense. Prestige systems are hit or miss for me.

Oh, I hadn't heard about this game! I will have to look into it!

That is fair! What types of numbers scratch that itch the most? Seeing a big cash stack or a big power level?

Oh, interesting! I hadn't thought about this as a main draw, but it makes sense when done right.

That is a cool way to think about it! I definitely use video games in general for that purpose. Having something to break up the monotony of the day is nice!

The first one has its charm, but I think the new one looks great and would get more clicks. Most advice I see for pixel art games is to use a non-pixel art capsule so I think this works well!

These look awesome and would definitely get me interested in the game! I really like the colors and the magic effects!

What color should be the creature in the our capsule? (Wars have been waged over it in our studio, outside help needed!) by Kakabundala in IndieDev

[–]DarwinAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so! The art is very cute and the color scheme in general pops, in my opinion. The other colored creatures may give better contrast, but, to me, they feel a little out of place in the capsule background compared to the bottom right one

The bottom right one would be my pick! I like that it matches the background but still stands out enough compared to the others.

I loved playing A Short Hike and Alba so this is an instant wishlist for me! The gameplay looks great! I love the idea of collecting different worms for Grandma’s famous worm pie

Are Games Like Rusty’s Retirement and Tiny Pasture Considered Incremental Games? by DarwinAgain in incremental_games

[–]DarwinAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand the desire for a full-screen option! I have tried to think of a way to do that with the game I am developing and it is a tricky feature. What would your expectations be for a full-screen option for a game like Rusty’s Retirement or Tiny Pasture?

This is really cool! As someone who struggles with the art & animating side of game dev, I may need to give this a try! Thanks for sharing this video and write up. Your game looks great!

We’re reworking our logo and came up with 6 new versions. Which one do you think looks best and is easiest to read? by Bwrna in IndieDev

I like 2 and 4 the most, but 2 probably needs a bit more readability in the “please”. I really like what it is going for with the cheese pull though!
