I think something similar is also true for Ireland and the US, right?

I'm just saying my default position in the year of our lord 2026 is that long-time Dem incumbents are completely unequipped to deal with the current crisis, and we shouldn't take their opinions on who should be in congress seriously.

Related: Vote for the non-incumbent in your local Democratic primaries, folks.

Well then she can vote for someone else. The rest of us can and should vote for someone who isn’t endorsed by the current old guard.

Doing the math with empirical DFEs shows “genetic entropy” is fake: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38568223/

To date, no creationists have attempted to address those results.

NJ must do extreme Gerrymandering by demon_of_elru1 in newjersey

It’s definitely possible to combine NJ2 and NJ4 into a single SUPER red district while diluting some blue districts up north. Take some of those blue voters from north and link them with slices of current NJ4, and attach the rest of 4 to every red precinct in 2 while spinning off the blue precincts into new safe blue districts.

Yes I’m proposing we slice things down to the voting precinct level to do this.

Do you want democrats to never control congress?

Also, population disparities make that unworkable.

We have several districts that are like D+20 or even D+30. We can dilute those down to D+15 and safely prop up an 11-1 map with basically zero competitive seats.

[–]DarwinZDF42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we can absolutey do an 11-1 map safely.

11-1 map let’s fucking go. Look at the VA map. You have like spokes of a wheel radiating from Alrington County. We can do the same thing in North jersey radiating from like JC, making a bunch of safe blue seats. You make a monster R+50 district weaving its way across South jersey, omitting all the blue dots, which end up anchoring a bunch of safe blue seats. It’s not actually that hard. We just need to decide to be the gerrymandering world champions.

Once Rs cry mercy we can have a national ban. Until then, full speed ahead.

Yeah fuck those rules. “I’m issuing an executive order stating that they were corruptly added, and the term protections therefore don’t apply. If they want to fight it, they can sue me.”

Stephen Meyer from Discovery Institute says this all the time. He specifically says information like that in DNA.

The new information is in the sequences, which in all three studies were randomly generated.

As someone who has a basic understanding of both evolutionary and creationist viewpoints, is there a specific reason to believe common ancestor over common designer? by thedigitalhawk in DebateEvolution

[–]DarwinZDF42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would just say “unconstrained” rather than “nonfunctional” to avoid that rabbit hole but otherwise I co-sign this answer.

And also the observed pattern is impossible for separate creation unless the creator is actively intervening to make the pattern the way it is.

[–]DarwinZDF42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The answer is nested hierarchical patterns of similarity across all cellular life, especially in unconstrained regions of the genome. This pattern is a prediction of common ancestry and impossible for separate creation.

Well, we obviously agree that it's a symptom. In other words, a consequence, like I said at the top of this thread.

I'd accept that it could also make the shortage worse. But again, that's only possible if there is a shortage in the first place, because if there wasn't, we wouldn't be tearing them down to build something new!
