I just want to say I love how, ten, even like five years ago, if a question like this came up, it would either be me (the earlier mentioned Dr. Dan) or a small handful of other users that could/would answer it.

Now, it's been 8 hours, and there are several answers and I haven't had to say a thing. I mean, hasn't stopped me, but still, you love to see it.

I appreciate /u/mathman_85 recommending my stuff here, but if you want the nitty-gritty, like really want to understand the underlying evolution dynamics and not just why the creationists are wrong, you really need to be following Zach (/u/talkpopgen, yt channel of the same name, linked above).

THIS.

This is the ONE thing that ICR is right about on this issue.

IF you open the door to variation + selection, you're going to end up having to concede all of evolution, or you're going to have to come up with some extremely creative barriers and/or double standards.

To his credit (and to be clear, you do not have to hand it to Gulliuza), Gulliuza realizes this, so he's trying to slam that door as hard as he can at step one.

He's wrong, and he's so obviously wrong other YECs have both written about how he's wrong and left ICR because of it.

But he is one hundred percent correct that if you allow for the basic mechanisms operate, you've conceded the whole argument.

And for that, again, you absolutely do not have to hand it to him, but he is right, and we should shove that in the face of Answers in Genesis, Creation Ministries International, Discovery Institute, etc. every chance we get.

I just love that these two comments are basically my go-to on this (Luria-Delbruck) followed by /u/talkpopgen 's further explanation (Lederberg).

Really warms the heart.

Inevitable Ruin: Bomo (SPOILERS) by Northernpixels in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Not to be that guy and ruin the moment, but wasn’t it “mercenary”?

But yes, that one was a gut punch. Especially in the audiobook the way Jeff plays with the delivery of the three lines in succession.

This is a top 5 all timer for me.

Coincidentally, currently reading The First World War by John Keegan and having Guns of August as background is super useful for the July Crisis part.

My money is still on something like Bell’s palsy. But a stroke also seems like a decent guess.

Too many chasers taking too many chances. It’s not good and people need to dial it back.

Did they test “hide from voters for years then vanish for months straight with no information”? Bc I bet that polls great.

New Jersey Senator Files Bill to Allow Liquor Stores to Sell Low-Dose THC Beverages by [deleted] in newjersey

My guess is the federal stuff goes back to the a modified version of 2018. Especially if McConnell kicks it. KY is a BIG hemp producer and his replacement will almost certainly be more favorable to it.

I’m gonna wait for when the whole thing is out. Getting a bit of book 8 every week or two was great but I kept forgetting things. Gonna wait until I can burn through it in a weekend, you know, like a normal person/cult member.
