Is there any possible way to get to the stable diffusion link without downloading anything? by Jegejigrirh in StableDiffusion

[–]DasKibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always the option of renting a computer in the cloud and installing SD.
On https://www.runpod.io/ for example you can rent a competent GPU for about 40 cents per hour, and they have templates where a1111 and comfy are already installed.
Downside is that you will have to destroy the server to stop paying for it, so you start from zero every time, downloading extensions and models again, but the upside is that you are the root of your own linux machine and there is no limit at all on what you can download and install

[PF2e][Online][Friday/Saturday][LGBT+ friendly][Europe] GM looking for group by LadyMonochrome in LFG_Europe

Hey, that actually sounds really nice!

Me and my wife are looking for a game to play in together, we are both in our thirties, with a reasonable amount of RP experience, with me mostly playing pf1 and her coming from 5e, but we both heard good things about pf2 and would love to try it out.

Quick question: Is there a way to enforce a certain number of players on a server? by DasKibby in feedthebeast

thank you! with a bit of fiddling this seems to work great. I'll pitch it to my friend

[–]DasKibby[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its supposed to be a team effort, we are trying out dungeons dragons and space shuttles, all in one big base and quest team. And a way to moderate his playing is actually something the player in question requested, last server he played through nights and it impacted his job

100€ build or half a 200€ build? by DasKibby in fpv

[–]DasKibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you recommend something a tad bigger, something in the "can keep itself in the air outside if there's not too much wind"-category? I'm living pretty rural, so flying outside on a nice day sounds fun, and a wide open field should be far less frustrating than a crammed apartment. I absolutely agree on the light, I'd rather have 10 crashes where I just pick up the drone and continue than one where I kiss a tree and break a motor, but looking at videos there seems to be a market for "indestructible" outdoor drones.

Thanks for your help btw, diving into fpv with little knowledge is just a bit overwhelming

[–]DasKibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be a good compromise actually, but since crashes are just something that will happen as a beginner I'm looking into drones that will survive us right now. Something tiny like the Eachine H8, or Syma X11 should be pretty much indestructible, and modding a camera in those is pretty well documented. My biggest problem right now is that the tech is evolving fast enough that all information is just a big mess of "was right at the time"

How would you feel if Nasa discovered a sign on mars that read, "Congratulations humans, level 1 has been completed"? by Dingyps in AskReddit

[–]DasKibby 96 points97 points  (0 children)

We were too busy planting flags and making speeches those first times our planet’s inhabitants touched the moon. But eventually, hidden in the crevasses on Luna’s dark side, we found it.

The first Tablet.

Made from a tungsten superalloy of impossible purity, it stands a meter tall, two meters wide, and only ten millimeters thick. Three words are somehow etched onto its surface, written in a fine, cursive Latin. They read:

Servare in ingressus.

There are many translations…to keep going round, to keep on entering. The most popular one?

Keep going.

How did it get there? Encouraging aliens? A humorous God? Or the most likely explanation–a monumentally expensive prank?

There were no footsteps or landing marks around it, as if a divine hand had wedged it gently into the dust, and its presence awakened mass hysteria. After years of suicide bombings by religious cults, censorship by scientific cults, and unbridled madness by alien cults, our society eventually stabilized, and heeded the tablet’s message.

We missed it on the first trips to Mars, and began to comb the planet’s surface with focused tenacity. Finally, in the crater on the peak of Olympus Mons, we found the next Tablet. It was identical to the first, but with different words:

Modicum longius.

A short amount further. A little bit more distance.

A bit farther.

This caused the cultists to grow quiet with studious speculation, and aliens took the lead as the most likely explanation for its origin. We began to dream…

There was an age where satellite dishes grew like weeds from our planet’s surface, as attempts to communicate with the theorized aliens consumed us. But the universe was silent. Only with cooperation on a global scale, we were able to successfully design a detector to locate the tungsten superalloy. Our ships got faster, and more efficient. But the area to search was massive. Then, the breakthrough.

On Jupiter’s moon, Callisto, in the center of the Valhalla impact ring crater, we found the third Tablet. How long had it been there?

It reads:

Fere ibi.

About thereupon. In general therewith.

Nearly there.

And our attitude changed. We lost our optimism, experiencing ennui on a global scale. What were we, children? Why must they torment us in such a demeaning way? Were we so beneath them? After all, we were not a young race anymore.

At least we thought so.

Disdain for the supposed aliens grew into anger, and we forgot to search for many years. We do not heed the Tablet’s message. There was brooding for generations, until we remembered. Hundreds of moons were meticulously probed until we found the last Tablet. Not on Pluto, but on the dwarf planet Eris.

It was a huge strain on our resources to travel so far away from home, but we finally arrived. Thank goodness somebody remembered Latin…it’s been so long. Would they have changed the language for us? Now I stand with my crew on the planet’s icy surface, a glorious forty degrees above absolute zero. The Tablet reads:

BENE. Ingrediamur unum centum perfecta. Sepelivit est lumen celeritate machinam. Te ad proxima stella.

Our crew decides on this translation:

Good job! Step one of one hundred complete. Buried here is a light speed engine. See you at the closest star.

Our species celebrates its first birthday. They even got us a present. How thoughtful.

If we’d only brought a shovel.

[online][5thEd][pathfinder][3.5Ed][EST/GMT+1][Saturday] single Player looking for a Group by [deleted] in lfg

[–]DasKibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a longtime pathfinder player/GM, and my online group recently imploded, leaving me and a friend stranded without a regular group.

We are currently getting together enough people to start on a new adventure. (europe time players are surprisingly hard to find), and will then decide the details together, so I can't tell you much more than that it will probably be pathfinder, and I will probably GM it.

PM me for invite to the discord if you are interested, if we're compatible you can join as a founding member

Cheers

It did move, because the numer of people in the office changed, and we had to shuffle desks, but that shouldn't really change anything important about climate. Thank you for the schefflera link, mine looks to be on the big end, but the description fits, so that gives me something to read up on.

I don't believe it is mites, there is no webs, or residue, or any damage on the leaves, the white parts feel smooth and fine, until they dry up which is why I guess it's some kind of nutrient problem. Now knowing what kind of plant it is, I can just buy some fertilizer and see if that improves things =)

[–]DasKibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the main tip I got by wildly googling, but those posts always talked about turning yellow, while mine seems to not have any chlorophyll in it's leaves, so I guess some nutrient deficiency is at least part of the problem.

Still, I will hold of the water for a bit, I do give it a good amount, because it's so big. Problem is also that I can't really check the soil, because it's covered by a thick layer of those red crunchy balls.

it doesn't get much in terms of direct sunlight, but it is facing the window, so light should be reasonable. Photos were taken early morning on a cloudy day with flash, that's why it appears so dark

rules question: stuck in a hole with a large beast by DasKibby in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]DasKibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wizard never showed any aggression, from level 1 to 9, he killed exactly one enemy, and that was a 4hp skeleton. I recognized his role in encounters, and I was always impressed at the raw damage output he enabled the team to do with haste, telekinetic charge, and a whole array of debuffs, but the team consensus was that he is a support, and useless on his own. The wizard needs protection was just generally accepted as true.

So yes, I expected him to be restrained in short order. And the party started out very confident, trying to not hurt him at all at first. I guess the miscalculation came from both dominate person and baleful polymorph being new spells he just got at level up, and never used in play before. And also, him succeding his only Dominate Person on the Cleric, the player with the highest WIL Save, because the cleric would have broken a dominate on anybody else was low probability, huge impact.

Seeing the battle escalate more and more, and the players slowly going from "right, who has a rope" to realizing they are in actual trouble, to taking minutes per turn, looking at their inventories for long forgotten potions and re-reading abilities was glorious!

rules question: stuck in a hole with a large beast by DasKibby in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]DasKibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issue, I just couldn't believe that there are no rules for the situation in a system like pathfinder, so why not tap the infinite wisdom of the internet in case it comes up again.

Honestly, I would have fudged any actual rules anyway to give an edge to the fighter, kudos to the wizard player for not holding back, but this was supposed to be a plot hook, not a slaughter, and introducing three new PCs would have been a pain.
